Kansas City Chiefs – 17, Buffalo Bills – 35

Ugly ugly ugly is all you can say about the Chiefs’ effort, especially QB Matt Cassel’s (304 total yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT) through about three and half quarters.  Two late touchdown passes with the game already decided are the only things that saved Cassel’s fantasy day.  At some point, the Chiefs have to wonder if there’s any way to get Cassel back on track after two poor showings to start the year.

Ryan Fitzpatrick (212 total yards, 2 TDs) was extremely efficient, and was at his best in a game where he didn’t have to be the one to try to win it.  If the Bills can keep Fitzpatrick from having to throw 45 times a game, he’ll have more useful backup-worthy stats like in this week

If it wasn’t for two late garbage time scores, Dwayne Bowe’s (8-102, 2 TDs) day would have been mostly forgettable. But luckily, it doesn’t matter when you get your points in fantasy football, as long as you do.  Bowe is an elite talent and that alone predicates he should be started in most every league.  Dexter McCluster (4-32) came down to earth a bit, but he’s still useful to have in PPR leagues.

Only a couple of catches each for Stevie Johnson (2-56, 1 TD) and Scott Chandler (2-53, 1 TD), but they were enough to make each fantasy relevant.  If you’re going to consider anyone in the Bills passing game, these are the only two worth playing.

What happened to Jamaal Charles (6 car., 3 yards; 3 rec., 19 yards)?  Apparently his reconstructed knee was giving him trouble, and Peyton Hillis (11 car., 66 yards; 2 rec., 25 yards) was the one who benefited.  At this point, it’s tough to trust Charles until he gets a clear bill of health.

Well now… CJ Spiller (15 car., 123 yards, 2 TDs; 3 rec., 47 yards) shows again why he really should be the lead dog for the Bills even when Fred Jackson is back healthy.  Spiller was explosive and elusive, two things Jackson rarely is.  Spiller is a definite play each week from now on regardless of opponent until he proves otherwise.
