The Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) will host the Houston Texans (1-0) in their home opener at Everbank Field on Sunday, in a divisional game that the Jaguars need to win. Last week, the Jaguars lost a heartbreaker in overtime against the Minnesota Vikings, while the Texans defeated the Miami Dolphins at home. With the slew of injuries in Jacksonville as of late, Sunday’s game may be a tough task for the Jaguars. Maurice Jones-Drew, who recently returned to the team, will have to shoulder the load in the running game, as ‘opening day starter’ Rashad Jennings was injured early into the contest in Minnesota last week. It will also be an important game for second-year QB Blaine Gabbert, who looks much improved under Mike Mularkey than he did in his rookie season. With the key injuries to the Jaguars defense, the offense may have to light up the scoreboard to have a chance against the Houston Texans, who are the favorites to win the AFC South this season. On the defensive side of the b...

Jaguars running back Rashad Jennings (knee) will miss Sunday's game against Houston.Fantasy Spin:It will be up to recent holdout Maurice Jones-Drew to carry the entire workload for the Jags. MJD took over after Jennings was hurt last week and accumulated 95 yards on 22 touches.

Gabbert, Jaguars picked apart by Texans

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Houston Texans didn't need a barrage of turnovers to get rolling this week. Arian Foster ran for 110 yards and a touchdown, Ben Tate added 74 yards and two scores and the Texans dominated from the opening kickoff in a 27-7 win at Jacksonville on Sunday. The Texans improved to 2-0 for the third consecutive season by winning their fourth in a row...

All about the defense in week 2

Last weekend was rough. The Jaguars jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead, but promptly blew it before throwing a go-ahead touchdown with 20 seconds left. Then, they allowed the Vikings to nail a 55 yard field goal and lost in overtime. In other words, it was a heartbreaker, and it wasn't the offense's fault. Week 2 brings the perception of a greater challenge. I word it that...

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars: Week 2 NFL Pick

Houston Texans (1-0) at Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) Blaine Gabbert looked serviceable in the opener against the Vikings, completing 23 of 39 for 260 yards, 2 touchdown, and no interceptions. Minnesota’s secondary is crap, but I was very impressed with Gabbert’s poise under pressure. I didn’t like the matchup for Gabbert because of his struggles under pressure last season. Minnesota...

Jaguars Sunday Primer: 3 Things to Watch

Divisional games for the Houston Texans always seem to be an adventure for the team, especially when the Jacksonville Jaguars are involved. Look no further than the Jaguars best player in Maurice Jones-Drew and what he can get between the tackles and moving...
