Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10, Dallas Cowboys 16

This was probably the ugliest all-around game of the week, as there wasn’t a lot of good football played here.  Both teams scored TDs in the first quarter, then traded field goals the rest of the way.  Josh Freeman (111 total yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) was simply dreadful, but he at least threw a touchdown pass to soften the blow for anyone who’s unfortunate enough to be playing Freeman at this young point in the fantasy season.  Tony Romo (284 total yards, 1 INT) had a much more respectable yardage total, but had no scores to boost his fantasy day.  That makes two weeks in a row of a pedestrian Romo, who is undoubtedly a starter for most any team he’s on.

Ugly day for Freeman, ugly day for the receiving options for the Bucs.  Vincent Jackson (1-29) was abysmal this week, but luckily he’s been good the first two weeks, so we can probably give him a pass this week.  No one else on this squad is even worth mentioning.

This was a fine day for Miles Austin (5-107) in the passing game, and even Dez Bryant (6-62) and Kevin Ogletree (5-57) had bounce back games after getting nearly shut out in Seattle.  What in the world has happened to Jason Witten (2-8)?  The all pro TE has looked like a shell of himself so far this season, and one has to wonder if his spleen injury is still bothering him to some degree.

Doug Martin (19 car., 53 yards; 2 rec., 21 yards) got enough touches to end up with a decent day overall in yardage, but the lack of a score hampered him from having a valuable fantasy outing.  He’s obviously the team’s bell cow at RB, so feel free to continue riding him if you need him.

This was an ugly game on the ground for the Cowboys, as DeMarco Murray (18 car., 38 yards, 1 TD; 3 rec., 17 yards) found no running room anyway.  His day was salvaged by an early touchdown, but he essentially did nothing the rest of the way.  Murray looked like one of the more explosive backs in the league last season, and the Cowboys have to find a way to get him untracked.
