The Denver Broncos will take Houston Texans this week (First Look); here are six notes for your consideration going into Week 3.
(1) Quarterback Peyton Manning’s go-to-guy seems to be receiver Demaryius Thomas.
Throughout the first two weeks of the season, Thomas has led the team in catches (13), yards (188), and scores (2). In fact, only one other offensive player—tight end Jacob Tamme—has been on the receiving end of a touchdown pass leading up to Denver’s third game of the season. Look for that to change as the season progresses and the Broncos look to get fellow receiver Eric Decker more involved in the offense.
Manning seemingly has had a tendency to target Tamme on first down, Thomas on second down and veteran Brandon Stokley on third down. (I say seemingly because I haven’t had the time to actually study film of Manning’s targets; I’ve merely observed while watching the Broncos’ first two games that Manning’s tendency seems to have been t

Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos can’t get away from the topic of arm strength since throwing three first-quarter interceptions. It wasn’t the fact the passes were intercepted it was the way the ball looked when they were. The ball was anything but a Manning-like spiral and in fact, they wobbled.Teammate, Brandon Stokley, brought up a good point. “Ya’ll look for something...
The best way for the Houston Texans to defend Peyton Manning in Denver on Sunday may be to keep him off the field.
The Texans (2-0) dominated possession with a punishing running game in last week's 27-7 victory over Jacksonville.
Sure, the defense played well again, holding the Jaguars to nine first downs and 117 total yards. But thanks to the well-executed ball-control game...
HOUSTON Wade Phillips took a preemptive strike at the "Peyton Manning is finished" angle Thursday.
"I know it's going to be asked so I'm going to go ahead and make my statement," the Houston Texans defensive coordinator said. "Peyton Manning looks like the same guy he's always been."
No sense poking the bear, even if it does have a neck...
Peyton Manning wasn't having any nonsense Wednesday -- "nonsense" in this case being any questions about the effectiveness of himself and the offense as a whole in the wake of a four-turnover performance Monday. At least on the surface, the 15-year veteran's confidence remained intact. "It's not deterred at all, if you're insinuating that coming off...
Denver Broncos power rankings from around the web. How did Monday’s 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons affect the Broncos’ power rankings? Let’s find out.
ESPN: 9th (13)
Was Peyton Manning really wearing a Broncos jersey? Looked like he could’ve been rocking the Colts’ horseshoe. Impressive.

Demaryius Thomas is a beast and surprisingly has been the best fantasy WR on the Broncos after all the hype was surrounding Eric Decker this Summer. Looks like he could be a steal for fantasy owners that grabbed him in the middle rounds of their drafts.

HOUSTON (AP) -- The way Houston is dominating possession time, Peyton Manning might expect to spend lots of playing time on the sideline Sunday.
The Texans (2-0) kept the ball with a punishing running game in last week's 27-7 victory over Jacksonville. Sure, the defense played well again, holding the Jaguars to nine first downs and 117 total yards. But thanks to the well-executed...
Let me preface this list with a few quick notes. Guys you won’t see on my list because I never saw them are Johnny Unitas, Otto Graham, Bart Starr, Sid Luckman, Sammy Baugh, Norm Van Brocklin and Y.A. Tittle. These guys played in black and white and are in another, much older class. I am also omitting some of the new guys that may make the list some day like Aaron Rodgers...
The Houston Texans are looking to start 3-0 for the first time in franchise history.Peyton Manning is 16-2 in his career against the Texans but that was when the Colts were the powerhouse of the AFC South, something that may belong to the Texans now. This time Manning takes on Foster and the Houston Texans in a Broncos uniform.Houston Texans (2-0): Matt Schaub is fresh off a contract...
1. Houston Texans Take On Old Adversary Houston (2-0) is one of only six remaining unbeaten teams. The Texans handily defeated the Miami Dolphins (1-1) in week 1, and the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2) in week 2. They will now square off against their first opponent featured in the playoffs one year ago: the Denver Broncos (1-1).That Denver team from a year ago was quarterbacked by...
In fantasy football, defense/special teams is often overlooked. Most people don’t realize that if their fantasy team’s defense/special teams knocks one out of the park, it could be the difference between losing a close matchup and winning. With that being said, here are my top 5 fantasy football defense/special teams for week 3.
5) Houston Texans (VS Denver Broncos)
The Texans quietly march into Mile High Stadium this Sunday sporting a 2-0 record, facing what is by far their biggest test of the young season. The Texans, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, are the #2 ranked team in the NFL, but you’d never know it. Meanwhile, the Broncos are regrouping after a Monday night defeat against the Atlanta Falcons. The Broncos made several...
Irony is part of the NFL. The Jaguars struggled through much of the Jack Del Rio era chasing the Colts. Now that Peyton Manning is gone, the Jaguars have yet to lose to the Colts under Blaine Gabbert. Oh the irony. Here's 5 quick things that the Jaguars can do to keep the streak going.
1) Defense (again)Once again, it's all about the defense. Hopefully they decide to show...
Houston Texans (2-0) at Denver Broncos (1-1)
No line has moved more over the past week than this one. Last week, this line was -2.5 in favor of Denver and now it’s -2 in favor of Houston. Why? Because Houston blew out the lowly Jaguars? Because Denver lost by 6 in Atlanta, one of the toughest places to play in the National Football League? I don’t get it. This line should probably...
TE Owen Daniels making a play last time these 2 teams met in regular season back in 2010.
The Houston Texans had no problem running through the first two games of the 2012 regular season against the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars. They outscored the two teams a 57-17 and allowed under 250 total yards in each game. Now in the 3rd week of the season the Texans face their...
