Week 5 Ride ‘Em Or Hide ‘Em WRs

You don’t need me to tell you to start Megatron, Fitz, or Julio…my mom could figure that out.  Let’s look at some other matchups that could be favorable this week:

Juan’s Going Deep With

Julio Jones @ Was

He has had a couple of bad weeks in the first month and may be a bit inconsistent this season, but I will safely say that he is going off this week.

Ride ‘Em

Roddy White @ Was

You probably don’t need me to tell you to start Roddy, but sometimes I fight common sense as Captain Obvious.  White should light up the Redskins woeful secondary.

Jordy Nelson @ Ind

The defacto #1 in Green Bay will get a ton of targets this week with Greg Jennings out of commission.  Love him this week.

Sleepers

Domenik Hixon vs Cle

Nicks is likely out.  Barden is likely out.  That guy Elisha is pretty damn good at making WRs that you have never really heard of, really good.

Randall Cobb @ Ind

Cobb should have an expanded role this week with Greg Jennings out.  James Jones and Jermichael Finley are crazy inconsistent, so Rodgers may lean on Nelson/Cobb this week.

Michael Crabtree vs Buf

Crabtree will be better in PPR leagues, but he should no problem taking advantage of a Bills defense that has allowed 7 WR TDs in the first 4 games.

Donnie Avery vs GB

Avery is very active in the Colts offense and should remain the starter as long as he is healthy.  The Pack may pay a lot of mind to Wayne which will open up things for Avery.  Tons of garbage points in this game.

Hide ‘Em

Pierre Garcon vs Atl

I love a healthy Garcon, but he is still ailing and the Falcons are the best team in the league against WRs.

Andre Roberts @ StL

The Rams defense has been great against the pass and although Roberts has been the top fantasy option in the Cards passing game this season, I would sit him this week.

Busts

Stevie Johnson @ SF

Stevie Johnson’s TD streak ended at 3 games last week.  The 49ers are only allowing 16 points a game to fantasy WRs.  No bueno.

Andre Johnson @ NYJ

AJ’s value will take a hit in every game that they don’t need to throw.  This is game that they won’t have to throw much.

Roddy White surprises high school students

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver can be a pretty nice guy. There are various member of the NFL such as his new nemesis Victor Cruz that would disagree with that statement. Falcons Injury Report: Julio Jones Dealing with Hand Injury

While Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan completed 25 passes for 369 yards, wide receiver Julio Jones had only one catch for 30 yards Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. The team had an explanation for the receiver’s disappointing output, as offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter told reporters, including Dan Hanzus of NFL.com, that Jones is dealing with the effects of...

Julio Jones says his hand is fine and he’s ready to go

There was a report that the hand of Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones affected his play last week against the Panthers. Jones told AtlantaFalcons.com that there’s nothing holding him back and his hand is just fine after suffering a laceration during their week 3 win over the Chargers. “Oh, yeah. I’m fine,” Jones said. “I’m ready to go.”

White embraces Jones, still Atlanta's top gun

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By PAUL NEWBERRY AP Sports Writer Roddy White could've pouted, could've complained, could've stirred things up in the locker room. He did none of that. White knew he was still the go-to receiver for the Atlanta Falcons, no matter who lined up on the other side. ''Roddy knows he's a very good player,'' said Falcons quarterback...

NFL Best Bets: Week 5 – 2012

I’m going to admit upfront, if you’re using our picks as a basis for gambling on games so far this season, you’re making a big mistake. I’ve been a disaster and that continued into week four, as my 1-3 took me to 4-12 for the season. Tony has been better, but not good. His 3-1 brought him to 8-8 for the year. I feel a turnaround coming sometime soon here, but you’ve been...
