St. Louis Rams
When you casually reviewed the Thursday night schedule at the end of the preseason, I'm fairly certain that you whizzed right past this Week 5 matchup between the Rams and Cardinals. Sure, you were looking forward to tracking potential Larry Fitzgerald points.
You certainly weren't anticipating a matchup between an undefeated Arizona squad and a 2-2 Rams squad under Jeff Fisher. Let's set the table.
The Cardinals won three of their first four games by four points or fewer, adding a blowout home win over the Eagles for good measure. The Rams eked out narrow wins over the Seahawks and Redskins by a combined nine points, narrowly lost to the Lions in Week 1 after leading much of the game and fell in an uninspired game against the Bears in Week 3 by 20 points.
Now that you've caught up, it's time to assess the Week 5 opener.
On paper, it's a fantastic matchup for Ryan Williams of the Cardinals. The Rams have allowed 130 total yards and 1.25 touchdowns per gam...
BEST OF MAXIM
John Skelton – remember him? It seems like a long time ago when he was the Arizona Cardinals' starting quarterback (week one actually). It does seem like a long time ago though. Anyway, Skelton, recovering from a low ankle sprain, may finally be healthy enough to be activated for Thursday's game against the St. Louis Rams. Skelton certainly won't start in place of Kevin...
As the second quarter of the NFL season begins, we have a huge swing game in the suddenly resurgent and physical NFC West. And here’s the kicker: The game doesnt involve the San Fransisco 49ers. Instead it’s the unbeaten and Kevin Kolb-led Arizona Cardinals taking to the road, trying to stay perfect, against the 2-2 Rams. This was supposed to be a 49er runaway in this division...
The fantasy football week kicks off with the undefeated Cardinals traveling back to St. Louis to meet the Rams in the Thursday night NFL contest. With the fantasy football season almost one-third over now (wow, that was fast), let's take a look at some Arizona Cardinals players that can help fantasy owners secure a win this week: Start 'em Larry Fitzgerald (WR): No shock...
As I sat here, it was rather embarrassing that the Arizona Cardinals were even undefeated to this point. They have to horrible quarterbacks, no running game and the offensive line is just horrendous. All of this was exposed tonight in St. Louis as the Rams put a 17-3 beat down on the Arizona Cardinals. The score might not show it, but this game was one-sided from the beginning...
St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola left tonight’s game against the Rams early with a shoulder injury.
Amendola injured his shoulder in the second quarter while trying to making a catch he fell on his shoulder. It looks like he may have separated it.
By the looks of Amendola’s reaction as he headed to the locker room, he looked he was pretty upset.
ST. LOUIS Kevin Kolb trudged toward the locker room, his gray hat flipped backward and his lips pursed, his once-unbeaten Arizona Cardinals unhinged and his offense a mangled wreck. The roar at the Edward Jones Dome was muffled behind him as he mumbled words to wide receiver Andre Roberts in a dimmed corridor. The siege that scrambled the harried quarterback was over, the results...
According to Pro Football Talk via Dov Kleiman, St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola suffered a broken collarbone during tonight’s win over the Cardinals.
Amendola was quarterback Sam Bradford’s most reliable target and now it looks like his season is over.
ARIZONA CARDINALS @ ST. LOUIS RAMS (+2)
I’m taking the Rams tonight. This is solely a situtional play for me here. 60% of the public likes the Cardinals. The Rams are at home twice in a row where they start the season 2-0. They found a win over the Seahawks and beat the Redskins at home thus far this year. The Cardinals aren’t going 16-0 and they should have lost to the Dolphins...
Through a quarter of the young 2012 season, many NFL teams have either fulfilled or sabotaged the predictions of experts and fans alike. The New Orleans Saints are 0-4, while the Arizona Cardinals of the lowly NFC West are undefeated. 10 of the 32 NFL franchises currently sit at .500, and no franchise has made a clear case for Super Bowl contender. With the league's teams growing...
According to Kathleen Nelson of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Rams running back Steven Jackson practiced on Tuesday in preparation for Thursday’s game against the Cardinals.
At this point it looks like he’ll be ready to go this week.
The Texans, Falcons and Ravens hold their own atop this week's power rankings, but, there is plenty of movement in the middle ranks... including the Arizona Cardinals making their climb upwards.
