There are some repeat names on this week 7 list that you may recognize from my week 6 waiver wire article, but when the same players have big games in back to back weeks, their names bear mentioning again.

Get active in the forums, post some questions and help answer other owners who are looking for the best waiver wire pickups for week 7

I will continue to update this list as the week 6 games progress.  Last updated Oct 14th, 2012

Felix Jones/Phillip Taner – RB – Dallas Cowboys

As I write this article there is a developing situation with DeMarco Murray and the Dallas Cowboys.  Murray was missing at the start of the second half with what is being described as a foot sprain.  In the event that Murray’s injury is serious, we will be looking at Felix Jones as the #1 add for week 7 off waivers.  Towards the end of the 3rd quarter, Felix Jones ended up on the sidelines as well due to cramping, giving way to Phillip Tanner.  While people will be looking for Phillip Tanner info, it is Felix Jones that will be the top pickup if Murray’s “foot sprain” is serious.  The Cowboys O-line could still have some issues which would limit Jones to flex status on a weekly basis, but Jones and Tanner both showed some nice burst on Sunday against the Ravens D.

Denarius Moore – WR – Oakland Raiders

Moore had a big week 6 against a pretty solid defense in the Atlanta Falcons.  He caught five passes for 104 yards and a TD, and showed his big play ability.  Moore was already rostered in over 70% of fantasy leagues, but if you play in one of the leagues where he is available, he has WR3/Flex ability and should be viewed as a pliable fantasy candidate this season.

Alex Green – RB – Green Bay Packers

Green had 22 carries for the Packers, for 65 yards in week 6 against the Texans.  And while those stats may not seem impressive, you need to look deeper and realize that Green was running against one of the more formidable lines in football, the Houston Texans.  And while the Texans didn’t do much to stop Aaron Rodgers with his 6 passing touchdowns, they certainly tried their best to contain Green.  If Alex continues to see 20+ carries a week, he is a solid RB2/Flex play as defenses can’t stack the box with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers passing attack.  If you didn’t take my advice last week, pick up Alex Green now heading into week 7.  He should be rostered in 100% of leagues after this week’s performance.

Chris Givens – WR – St. Louis Rams

As I mentioned last week, Givens has exceptional speed, but through 5 weeks he had just 4 receptions for 112 yards.  Well that all changed on Sunday, with Danny Amendola out and through 2 quarters of play, Givens had 3 receptions for 85 yards as he put his speed on display against the Miami Dolphins.  He remains a young raw talent, but is worth a look in 12 team formats this week off waivers.  As long as Sam Bradford keeps looking his way, we could be seeing a breakout season from the young wideout.  Make sure when you pick up Givens you go for the one on the Rams, as there is also a Chris Givens at WR for the Saints.

Daryl Richardson – RB – St. Louis Rams

Richardson has been one of my favorite handcuff options in football this season since his week 2 breakout performance when Jackson went down to injury.  That week, against the Redskins, Richardson ran the ball 15 times for 83 yards and caught 2 passes for 19 yards.  It looked like S-Jax would have a lingering groin issue that would allow Richardson to start a game or two, but that has yet to materialize in 2012.  If you have room on your fantasy bench for a RB with great burst, you should head out and roster Richardson.  Even with a healthy Steven Jackson in the lineup; at halftime on Sunday, Richardson had 5 carries for 68 yards against the Miami Dolphins.

Jermaine Gresham – TE – Cincinnati Bengals

Gresham has steadily been putting up decent numbers this season after a disappointing first 2 weeks.  In his last 3 weeks, Gresham had 15 receptions for 171 yards and 1 TD.  While he isn’t as flashy as some of the other big play TE’s in the league, he makes for a solid TE2, especially for owners looking for a fill-in option on bye weeks.  Through 2 quarters of play on Sunday against the Browns, Gresham had 2 receptions for 59 yards and a TD.

Mike Williams – WR – Tampa Bay Bucs

Williams and Freeman have started to figure things out for the Bucs, and it is time for Mike to be owned once again in all formats.  For the second week in a row, Mike went over 100 yards receiving, doing it this time in the first half against the Chiefs.  Week 5 stats – 4 receptions, 115 yards and 0 TD, followed by 3 receptions for 103 yards and a TD in the first half of week 6.  Williams now moves up into WR3 territory in all formats.

Josh Gordon – WR – Cleveland Browns

In week 5 against the Giants, Gordon went for 82 yards and 2 TD’s on 2 receptions.  He remains an intriguing sleeper candidate, in fantasy football, but he doesn’t see much volume so he should remain on waivers until Weeden starts looking Gordon’s way more often.  On Sunday he had 1 reception for 71 yards and a TD in the first half.

Marlon Moore – WR – Miami Dolphins

Moore caught 3 passes for 46 yards and a TD in the first half Sunday against the Rams.  He is not a recommended pickup in fantasy formats at this time, as the TD came on blown coverage.  Week 6 was his first game action of the season for the Dolphins.
