The New England Patriots weren’t pretty last Sunday, but they were able to survive a tough divisional game against the New York Jets 29-26 in overtime. The defense gave up a ton of yards, but it was Rob Ninkovich’s sack and forced fumble in overtime that sealed the victory. Now, without tight end Aaron Hernandez, the Patriots will make a trip across the pond for an international football game against a tough defensive opponent. Will the Patriots find a way to close out games consistently starting this week especially with their bye coming up next week?
The St. Louis Rams have undergone a culture change under new head coach Jeff Fisher. Fisher’s team is 3-4, but has struggled to score on offense with quarterback Sam Bradford. They only average about 19 points per game and 315 total yards a game (28th in the NFL). Their defense has a lot of good, young players like defensive end Chris Long (4 sacks) and linebacker James Laurinaitis (team leading 69 tackles). However, th...
BEST OF MAXIM
The Patriots are still the best franchise in the AFC. The problem is that their weaknesses are the same every season. They have a weak defense and no deep threat on the outside. Last year they tried to use Chad Johnson and this year is Lloyd, neither are helping out. The defense is young and can be exposed. How far can they go?
Here's a look at their remaining schedule...
Justin Francis and Chandler Jones of the New England Patriots celebrate after sacking St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford.
When Rob Gronkowski punctuated his first touchdown in the Patriots' victory over the Rams in London on Sunday with a trademark spike, everyone assumed he was paying homage to the local guards at Buckingham Palace.
He was -- we think.
When asked later about the marching steps that preceded his spike, Gronkowski gave an explanation that shed some light on his...
The Patriots' jaunte across the pond to England is not a vacation -- Tom Brady is making that clear.
After a six hour flight that moved the team's collective watch five hours ahead, however, the Patriots actually did head out for a romp in the park. While the Rams practiced in a field at their hotel, New England took to London's famous -- and very public...
Rob Gronkowski is a crowd pleaser if nothing else. The Patriots tight end was addressing fans in Trafalgar Square in London on Saturday ahead of New England’s game against the St. Louis Rams when he began receiving calls to “spike the mic!”
Gronk started laughing, stopped talking about the Rams, took one look at the mic in his right hand, and happily obliged with a vicious...
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is a total beauty. Gronkowski’s first touchdown celebration is obviously the best one, and by far the most creative. His imitation of the Queen’s guard is hilarious and you have to love the enthusiasm that he plays with.GIFs via: Deadspin
Who will represent the AFC in Superbowl XLVIII?
Will a real AFC football team please stand up… I understand Halloween is around the corner and everyone is trying to changeup their identity, but after the first seven weeks of the NFL season, it feels like every team from the American Football Conference has been celebrating Halloween earlier than scheduled. From the 16 teams that...
The New England Patriots and St Louis Rams went overseas for the 2012 NFL International Series Game at Wembley Stadium in London. The English hadn’t seen such a forceful offensive onslaught since the Patriots whipped the Tampa Buccaneers in their last London appearance, 35-7 in 2009.
When Tom Brady and company were done with the Rams there was no doubt in anyone’s mind...
Tom Brady led touchdown drives on the Patriots' first five possessions Sunday and New England ran over the St. Louis Rams 45-7 in the NFL's annual regular-season game in London.
The Rams looked ready to put up a fight when Sam Bradford hit Chris Givens with a 50-yard touchdown pass on the first drive of the game. But that was about all the offense St. Louis could muster...
Rob Gronkowski caught his sixth touchdown pass of the season as the the Patriots took on the Rams Sunday in London. To celebrate, Gronk busted out this Tin Tin soldier (or Frankenspike?) version of his infamous boom spike celly. The result? Pure Gronk Awesomeness.
Yes, it was just the Rams. But, how many times have we said almost just that about an opponent.Oh, it's just the Cardinals, it's just the Seahawks, it's just the Jets.Don't fool yourself, if we've learned anything this year it's that you shouldn't take winning for granted. The Patriots not only won, they rolled. They played their most complete game of the...
