HOTQB            Cam Newton – Entering the season, Cam wouldn’t have been part of the Start’em because I don’t put early draft picks or elite players on this list; but this year has been the exception for Cam thus far.  However, this week is ripe for him to return to 2011 glory.  He’s going up against RGIII and you know he wants to do better than him.  Ultimately Cam’s a Start this week because of his matchup with the Redskins Defense. Oh let me count the ways…The Redskins allow the...                               1. 4th most fantasy points to QB’s.                                2. Most completions.                                3. Most pass attempts.                               4. Most passing yards.                               5. Most passing TD’s.Russell Wilson – Aided by the 12th man at home in Seattle, the Seahawks welcome the Minnesota Vikings.  Wilson is coming off a 236 yard 2 TD performance on the road in Detroit. The Vikings allow the 5th most fantasy points to QB’s.  Particular to Wilson, the Vikings allow the most rushing yards and rushing TD’s to QB’s too. Noteworthy is that in week 8 the Vikings lost right corner back Chris Cook to a fractured arm and will be starting rookie Josh Robinson.Honorable mentions:  Josh Freeman and Jay CutlerRBMikel Leshoure – Leshoure hasn’t put up huge numbers yet this season and he regularly gets pulled on 3rd downs in favor of Joique Bell. But this week, against the Jags, he should be good to go. He missed practice earlier in the week because of the birth of a child so hopefully the Jaguars provide Leshoure with a rebirth on his fantasy season.  The Lions should be able to run with ease against the Jaguars as they allow the 4th most fantasy points to RB’s. There could even be some clock killing runs late in the game for Leshoure to pad the stats.Jonathan Stewart – The Daily Show has taken over late nights and this backfield.  Stewart is now dominating snaps in this backfield and emerging as a PPR option as well. Washington is good against the run, but Stewart has the talent and snaps to have a productive day.  Brandon Lafell is not yet cleared from his week 8 concussion and if he’s out the Panthers will lean on the run even more as the Redskins pass defense will focus on stopping Steve Smith.Honorable mentions:   Michael Bush and Daniel ThomasWRDenarious Moore AND Darrius Heyward-Bey –Tampa’s pass defense is just as bad as Washington, giving up the 2nd most receiving yards and 3rd most fantasy points to WR’s.Honorable mentions:  Kenny Britt and Josh GordonTEGreg Olsen – This is a sweet matchup. Redskins allow 2nd most fantasy points to TE’s. Additionally they allow; 2nd most TD’s, 2ndMost yards, 2nd most receptions, 3rd most targets and most importantly, THE MOST redzone targets and touches!Honorable mentions:  Jermaine Gresham and Joel DreessenNOTQBMatt Ryan – Something has to give here.  Dallas has a revamped secondary and they have limited Eli TWICE only 1 pass TD in the two meetings and 202.5 ypg avg. The Cowboys give up the 4th fewest fantasy points to QB’s. They allow the 2nd fewest passing yards, and 3rd fewest passing TD’s. If Matt Ryan makes it through this game with good yards and TD’s he will then be match up proof after facing Philly on the road and Dallas in prime time in their season saving game.Watch out:  Eli ManningRBChris Johnson – Da Bears. Chicago gives up 2nd fewest fantasy points to RB’s. In doing so, their allowing the fewest amount of rushing yards and only 1 rushing touchdown on the year.Watch out:  Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller (Houston hasn’t allowed a rushing TD all year)WRWatch out:  Dez Bryant and Miles Austin – Falcons 6th fewest fantasy points to WR’s.Watch out:  Julio Jones and Roddy White – Dallas 3rd fewest fantasy points to WR’s. TEJermichael Finley – Hasn’t found his groove yet this year and faces the Arizona Cardinals who allow the 3rd fewest fantasy points, yards and receptions to TE’s. Watch out: Martellus Bennett

Fantasy Football Week 9: Cam Newton Among Must-Start Quarterbacks

Jay Cutler, Chicago BearsJay Cutler came into this season as a lukewarm idea of a stud quarterback.Based on the fact the Bears' season went down the toilet last year following Cutler’s season-ending thumb injury and the addition of Brandon Marshall to the Bears' wide receiver tandem, many felt that Cutler could be a solid top 5 fantasy quarterback this year. Then there were... Week 9 Contest Picks

Week 9 has arrived and the games aren’t getting any easier to pick. There are still some teams that we don’t have a read on yet. Are any of us sure of what Cowboy team will show up this week? How Do We Measure Rookie Quarterback's Performances?

This Sunday's match-up between Washington and Carolina is being viewed as the "duel between the phenoms." This game isn't even about the teams, it's pitting former rookie of the year Cam Newton vs. most assuredly this year's winner Robert Griffin III.  Should this much hype be warranted between players on losing teams?  In fact it will take a miracle for...

Panthers-Redskins Preview

While dual-threat quarterbacks Cam Newton and Robert Griffin III are two of the most exciting players in football, their impressive skill sets haven't translated into many wins for their respective last-place teams. Week 9 Fantasy Football Start Em’ Sit Em’

Start Em’ QB - Matthew Stafford DET, Cam Newton CAR, & Josh Freeman TB Don’t be fooled by Aaron Rodgers’ mediocre performance against Jacksonville last week as he was missing two of his best weapons. Matthew Stafford will have Megatron back this week, which by itself should lead to a big game. Lost in the shuffle of the Panthers loss was a pretty solid Cam Newton performance...
