St. Louis’ special teams can’t be as bad as San Diego’s, which means the Seahawks can’t expect Leon Washington to run back two kickoffs for touchdowns in order to offset another uneven performance from the offense.
Perhaps today will be the game where the defense doesn’t stay on the field for nearly 40 minutes in the same manner it has in the first three games.
Either way, the goal for the 2-1 Seahawks will be to provide more style and substance than the smoke and mirrors that have hidden (for now) the glaring cracks in the franchise’s rebuilding process. A win over a St. Louis team they’ve defeated 10 straight times would put 3-1 at the quarter turn in a division that has no clear front runner.

Seattle has held the ball an NFL-low 24:34 per game, and they’re not putting up explosive totals (284 ypg, 29th in the league) the few precious moments when they do.
