How bad is the opening week slate of games on CBS? So bad that the network is sending its lead announcing team of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms to Houston to call a Texans game.This decision definitely likely has less to do with the Texans than it does with the young, dimpled quarterback of its opponent, the New York Jets. But, still ... there are at least three more compelling games on the network on Sept. 13 (Miami Dolphins at Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens). Even people in Houston don't want to watch the Jets/Texans clash -- the game has yet to sell out. FOX, on the other hand, is stretched so thin in week one that Thom Brennaman and Brian Billick will be announcing Brett Favre's(notes) first game in a Minnesota Vikings uniform. It's never a good sign when one network's "A" game is infinitely less interesting than the other network's "D" game. All this comes via Awful Anno...
