Flock OF Seahawks:
…and so it begins.
The Seahawks have a new coach, attitude and — finally — a 53-man roster, albeit one that will take a lot of getting used to.
These aren’t your big brother’s Seahawks. Matt Hasselbeck is still there, but the days of Shaun Alexander, Walter Jones, Darrell Jackson and Grant Wistrom are gone. Long gone.
Enter Pete Carroll, and enter the gameplan for his debut against a San Francisco team regarded as the favorite in a wide-open NFC West division.
When the Seahawks have the ball
San Francisco had the league’s sixth-best defense against the run last season; ILB Patrick Willis is one of the game’s elite defenders and fellow ‘backer Takeo Spikes still brings the lumber entering his 13th campaign. The Seahawks had little success running the ball during the preseason, forcing Carroll to make Justin Forsett the starter almost by default.
It shouldn’t take much to get Forsett to improve upon his last game against the 49ers....
