Week Thirteen Complete Rankings
It week thirteen and we have taken extra care this week in attempting to give you the most accurate rankings possible.
At the quarterback position RGIII, Rodgers and Brady top the list for Rizzla and Zach with Drew Brees being in 1st for Rizzla’s rankings and Brady number one in Zach’s rankings. They both agree that Andrew Luck is a QB1 against Detroit but disagree on Colin Kaepernick who Rizzla has as a top-10 option while Zach has him as a high end QB2 at 15th overall.
At the running back position both Rizzla and Zach agree that Arian Foster is the number one running back option as the Texans face off against an easy Titans team that should not give them much trouble even though the Titans play much better at home. Both have Adrian Peterson and Trent Richardson in their top fives as well. There is a big disparity between Rizzla and Zach’s rankings of Frank Gore and Chris Johnson with Zach having Johnson ranked at number eight and Rizzla having him a...
BEST OF MAXIM
Not only did the New Orleans Saints bus end up with egg on it, Drew Brees record did as well. The Saints were in Atlanta to face off against the Falcons Thursday night. While the team started off the season in pure struggle behind b0unty-gate, as of late they’ve shown signs of pulling things together. [...]
Atlanta knocked off New Orleans on a mistake-riddled day by Saints QB Drew Brees. Brees threw five interceptions but no TDs. It was his first game not throwing a TD in his last 54 games.
Andrew Juge of the Saints Nation stops by to break down the disaster in Atlanta. He compares watching it to watching the Heath Shuler led Saints. He and Ralph discuss if the Saints would have been better off if they had played the good teams on their schedule early in the season and Andrew explains why the offensive line has struggled and what it might look like next year.
Drew Brees is a bona fide future Hall of Fame quarterback: one of the most prolific passers in history, proud owner of numerous individual records for both passing yards and accuracy, and a Super Bowl MVP.But even Hall of Fame QBs get the statistical blues. Brees was picked off five times at Atlanta Thursday night, the biggest reason the Falcons held on for a 23-13 win over the...
New Orleans' Drew Brees had gone 54 straight games with a touchdown pass before last night. In a 23-13 loss, the streak ended and virtually so did the Saints season. You may remember the Saints stopping a game against the Chargers earlier this year when Brees broke the long standing record, passing Johnny Unitas for most consecutive games with a touchdown pass. I thought it was...
Drew Brees threw a career-high five INTs in Atlanta. But Scott Kacsmar says Turnover Rate is a better stat than total INTs. And the three all-time leaders at protecting the football are active right now: Rodgers, Ryan and Brady. Mark Sanchez "ass fumbles" were not included.
For the second straight week MarijnPessers has won the Saints Nation Guru award and it's vaulted him alone atop the standings with two victories this season. As Drew Brees has completely imploded, Marijn has done the exact opposite and gotten hot with his prognostication skills. I can only be left to assume he made a deal with the devil to sacrifice Drew Brees performance for...
This week the Atlanta Falcons defense put an end to Drew Brees’ impressive run of 54 games with a touchdown pass. While it is important to take a moment to appreciate the accomplishment (no quarterback outside of Tom Brady has even sniffed 40 games since Johnny Unitas set the mark) we should acknowledge that records are made to be broken; and that Brady is within range...
Oh, Drew Brees it's like we didn't even know you. Did you really throw five interceptions and no touchdowns?During fantasy football playoff week? No one could predict that. But now it is time to move on. If you had Brees in your lineup you can recover. If you didn't it is time to pick a winning fantasy lineup. Sunday's matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and...
Twas the night before Week 13, when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a louse
The playoffs were ahead, your team crafted with care,
In hopes that Saint Brees would carry you there
Dad told all the kiddies before they went to bed,
“I’ll win the championship, then Santa will fly in on his sled”
And mama in her nightie, thinking of what she’d do with...
Every year, we are reminded how the NFL has become a passing league and if you don't have a franchise quarterback, you don't have a chance. Well, there is always a slim chance, but in recent years it has been the same names in the same game. With the passing boom of the 21st Century NFL, it feels as if defensive players appear to be at a slight disadvantage with all of the...
Matthew Stafford is currently third in passing yards in the NFL with 3,429, and faces off against a lack-luster defense this weekend in the Indianapolis Colts. We know Stafford has one of the best arms in the league, but how good can he actually do against the Colts defense this Sunday?Stafford has an opportunity to pass Drew Brees and Matt Ryan for the lead in passing yards, as...
I'll spare you the long intro diatribe, the Saints scored 13 points, they turned the ball over five times and they failed to get points after having first and goal with about a minute left in the half. Frankly it just wasn't anywhere close to good enough. A pretty sick twist of fate that the offense picked this game to perform like this when the defense turned in their best...
I remain disgusted that this defense could play so well for really the first time all season and be rewarded by 5 interceptions from Drew Brees. The coverage in particular was outstanding even if the Saints were helped by some drops. To hold the Falcons to 1 for 11 on 3rd down is positively incredible, so major kudos to the Saints' defense and Steve Spagnuolo. And you know what...
