Wes Welker joked after the Patriots’ win over the Broncos on Sunday that it was nice sticking his big game in coach Bill Belichick’s face. Welker had 13 catches for 104 yards and a touchdown in New England’s 31-24 win, marking his third straight 100-yard game. That’s a big development for Welker, whom the Pats appeared to be phasing out of the offense the first two weeks of the season. Julian Edelman started over Welker in the team’s first two games, and Wes didn’t even become a big part of the offense until an injury took out tight end Aaron Hernandez. I’m convinced they would have continued to keep Welker in a limited role had the injury to Hernandez not occurred, and that he’s only producing because they’re giving him the opportunity. It was clear over the offseason when the Patriots signed Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski to long-term deals while only tendering Welker a one-year offer that he was not a part of the team’s long-term plans. It seemed obvious they were phasing him ou...

Wes Welker likes sticking it in Bill Belicheck's face (Video)

New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker caught 13 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown during the team's 31-21 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday. It's certainly a lot more productivity from Welker than he had during the first week of the season, when he only caught three passes for 14 yards. When asked about it, Welker said "It's kind of nice to stick...

Wes Welker Was 'Joking' With Bill Belichick Comments, Acknowledges Coach is 'Greatest of All-Time'

Wes Welker's subtle pass at humor was blown way out of proportion after the Patriots 31-21 win over the Broncos on Sunday night. And now he's reeling everyone back into reality. After a 13-catch performance that seemed to further solidify that he was indeed back to his normal role as a vital piece of this offense, Welker joked that it was nice to stick the monster outing...

Bill Belichick's Latest Cutoff Hoodie Available From Patriots Pro Shop for $75

Patriots fans have long admired coach Bill Belichick for his range of football talent -- and fashion sense. Never a coach to get caught up in a Mike Nolan-like controversy for dressing too sharp, Belichick has been just as creative at looking like a sideline hobo as he's been in calling New England's on-field schemes throughout the years. While most of Belichick...

Wes Welker Tops 100 Yards vs. Broncos

It remains to be seen if Welker will still be a huge part of the offense when Hernandez comes back, but you might want to quietly shop him just in case.

Wes Welker Takes A Shot At Bill Belichick

See I don’t have a problem with this at all, but I can certainly see Bill Belichick not liking it one bit. Randy Moss went from a reformed clubhouse cancer to out of town faster than I can say “Straight cash, Homie” Do I think that will happen to Welker? No, but Aaron Hernandez and Julian Edleman will be back very soon. Between those two and the way the Patriots have been running...

NFL Rumors: New England Patriots suddenly find ground game

In recent years, running the ball was seemingly an afterthought for the New England Patriots offense. Stevan Ridley's Insatiable Drive Continues to Power Patriots Offense to Desired Balance

After suffering a crushing defeat in the waning moments of Super Bowl XLVI, Bill Belichick had a change of heart. Well, more of a change in philosophy. In that super letdown, the Patriots managed just 19 carries for 83 yards. That subpar effort and the accompanying defeat spurred Belichick to change his entire offensive strategy. Now, the focus was going to be on building a more...
