It was a public viewing of how business is run, but in the end it was the ugly side that came out.
Patriots’ fans are still wondering how Wes Welker got away, bolting for Denver. However, it’s the nature of the beast, and Welker has no hard feelings.
He went on to say that things never got personal and in the end it may have been for the best.
According to Kareem Copeland of NFL.com, the talks were amicable and though Welker departed over a $1 million difference, it’s all good.
"No, I don't think so. A lot of it is just business," Welker said. "Though, it's kind of the unfortunate part of the business, it is what it is.
You try and find what works for you, as far as financially and as a player and everything else.
"At the end of the day, fortunately or unfortunately, it kind of just worked out the way it did."
