Another year, another wife of a New England Patriots star player speaking out following the team’s loss in the playoffs. Last year, it was Gisele Bundchen, the wife of quarterback Tom Brady, who said her husband could not throw and catch the ball at the same time, an obvious shot at Wes Welker who dropped a key pass in the Super Bowl. This year, Anna Burns, the wife of wide receiver Wes Welker, spoke out after the team’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game. Instead of ripping the Patriots, or maybe Tom Brady and his two interceptions, Anna Burns Welker went after the opposing team, specifically Ray Lewis. According to TheBigLead and Boston.com, Burns took to her Facebook page to remind everyone of Lewis’ not so perfect past. Burns posted “Proud of my husband and the Pats. By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis’ Wikipedia page. 6 kids, 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay! What a hall of fame player! A true role model!” following the team’s loss to the Ravens. Why she had to say anything at all is beyond me because while Lewis was accused of murder, he was never found guilty.   • Wow. This is why people can't stand NE. Did any of them say farewell to Ray like Payton did? Competitor to competitor. Most likely NO because the Patriots are beotches who have no grace. The fact that wifey is talking smack reflects that.

    NE fans taunted Ray. It got personal. No way they could lose on Sunday. I think the Atl / SF game was a bad omen for them because of the smack talking Falcons. I hope the patsies go 18 and 0 next year with 1 loss at the SB. And somebody remind the little babushka Wes is trying to negotiate a contract from an organization that does not like public yapping.

    I'm not a Ravens fan and I wish a great retiring player well. And I hope for her sake Ray DID pay a family off because if he didn't she can find herself in a court room explaining how he did that. Obviously Gisele didn't give the wives a class and covered the objectives on the open mouth wide insert foot.

  • I'm sure if asked Ray will say he forgives her for her tasteless remarks. I certainly hope he wins this Super Bowl, you could'nt write a better script. It seems to me that while the patsys did lead the league in some key offensive categories, they also lead in something else.....wives with BIG MOUTHS WHO NEED TO LEARN TO KEEP THEM SHUT!!!

  • Its a shame that people idolize the likes of Ray Lewis. During his trial,they wanted to know what happened to the white suit that he was wearing and he would't say.Why, because it might have been covered in the blood of the two people that were killed.   • I am a believer that Ray has redeemed himself whether he did it or not. He has stayed out of trouble, gives back to the community and does more good than most. Yes he was a thug and so are were the two little gun toting punks and their gang. It was astreet war and it got ugly. Thats what happens when battles are fought with weapons people die. ray swas lucky he survived. it could just as easily been him in that coffin but he learned that he had much more. Better late than never. And to Welkers wife the only thing your mouth is good for is a good BJ and a facial. And to the patriots you are done and a bunch of cheaters and poor sports. Good riddance!

  • Kudos to Anna Burns for having the fortitude to write what everyone who knows the truth, thinks about Ray Lewis. He hides behind his supposed devotion to God, his role as a team leader, and his love of family. Granted he's an outstanding athelete, but Hall of Fame character? Not in this man's opinion!

  • Well Bozz, let's have her grow a pair and say the same things about Billicheat and Tom Brady who dumped his pregnant girlfriend to pursue the model. He is now half of 6 kids and Gisele says she wants more. Perhaps its OK with Ms Welker that 8 plus kids by 2 women is better than Rays' equation. You shouldn't be too mad with Lance since NE been there and done that. And that little apology was a gun to her head by the NE honchos.   • Ray Lewis is just lucky to part of the left wing controlled NFL's storyline. Smart folks know what is going on here, the Patriots after 911, the Saints after Katrina, now the coveted Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh and the fruition of the Madden 13 Ray Lewis storyline. Ridley was down and that was not a fumble...not to mention a couple other calls...we have eyes...the commentators didn't even suggest the review of the Ridley play. Pollard has injured Brady, Gronkowski, Welker's knee...that's right and how many other players on other teams? No fines or suspensions from NFL??? I call rigged BS.
