There’s an open competition at Redskins‘ Park that has everyone’s attention in Washington, and that’s at running back. Three backs have returned from last season and all three are expected to make the roster. So, how about Alfred Morris? Morris was originally practice squad destined…and for a sixth round pick, it’s understandable. Short a freak accident, last year’s rushers—Tim Hightower, Roy Helu Jr. and Evan Royster—will remain with the team. The Redskins could keep a fourth running back on the roster, if and probably only if, he could contribute at other positions; mind you, Darrel Young is down. But it doesn’t look like the coaching staff is asking the rookie to learn fullback. Instead, his future with this team could rely on one of the top three going down. Tim Hightower is the only one who isn’t 100 percent right now and it wasn’t long ago that he was the favorite to start.
