Marcus Trufant has practiced two days in a row with no apparent ill effects. That is very good news. There is no doubt that having Trufant on the field will improve this defense, but the ripple effect his presence adds could be somewhat dramatic. First and foremost, he is the most talented member of our secondary by a long stretch. So, y'know, that's really good. Secondly though, with Trufant taking his spot back, there is more competition out there (and less Kelly Jennings). It remains to be seen whether Josh Wilson has done enough to wrest the second starting spot away from Ken Lucas, but in reality all three CBs will get a lot of time out there. I expect the Hawks to play their corners a bit like they are their DTs -- if you're going against big, power receivers like Fitzgerald or Andre Johnson, you start Lucas; if you're going against speedsters you start Lucas.
