I’m not sure how low things can go in Atlanta. It could be next week, if they were the first team to lose to Tampa Bay all season. I’ve always considered myself a very passionate fan that is usually energetic for every game. This was the first time in about six years, where I coasted through the game. There was no real emotion coming out of my heart besides one play from Jonathan Babineaux, who made a tackle for a five-yard loss.Other than that, the game couldn’t have been more one-sided. Atlanta’s secondary was allowing a bunch of role players to catch the ball almost at will. Golden Tate can be explosive, but he’s not a number one receiver. He made Asante Samuel look old out there yesterday. Once again, this was a game where the Falcons defense needed to make plays and take charge. There wasn’t even an inkling of that.Seattle was vulnerable coming off two wins against non-playoff teams in St. Louis and Tampa Bay. The offensive line had three backups playing and they were still wit...

The Atlanta Falcons have been hands down one of the most disappointing teams in the league, stumbling to a 2-7 record and losing their last three games by 61 points combined after entering the highly-anticipated 2013 NFL season widely considered one of the top Super Bowl contenders. Much of the disappointment has been the result of the string of absolutely devastating injuries...
During the week many Seahawks players said they still felt the sting of their 2012 divisional playoff loss, it seemed they were looking for payback. Seattle got their revenge Sunday beating the quickly fading Atlanta Falcons 33-10.
Last week: 21 (-6)
There are bad stop units and then there is the Atlanta Falcons’ “stop” unit, which has forced a league worst 30 punts, as well as just 8 takeaways and 2 failed 4th downs. They are allowing opponents to move the chains at an 80% rate, which is 3rd worst only to Jacksonville and San Diego. Matt Ryan has done a very admirable job despite losing most...
Weatherspoon is eligible to return to the Falcons' lineup in Week 11, nine weeks after he suffered a Lisfranc injury that sent him to injured reserve.

ATLANTA More than halfway through their season, the Atlanta Falcons have one of the five worst records in the NFL and looked every bit the part in Sunday's 33-10 loss to NFC-leading Seattle at the Georgia Dome.
The offense, a supposed strength for the Falcons (2-7), sputtered once again. They have a total of 33 points for their three-game losing streak. At least in the first...

The job of Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith is not in jeopardy even as the Falcons are 2-7 this season.

The Falcons are 2-7 and for most franchises that would mean talk of firing or replacing the head coach. Not so fast in Atlanta though.

“Mike Smith is a hell of a football coach; he’s the leader of this team,” Dimitroff told ESPN.com. “Mike’s going nowhere...
Atlanta tight end Tony Gonzalez may be dealing with a toe injury. SOURCE: ESPNFantasy Spin:He was seen limping around the locker room after Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. Gonzalez turned in one of his worst outings of the season on Sunday, catching just three passes for 29 yards. The last thing the 2-7 Falcons need right now is another injury.
The Atlanta Falcons are 2-7 and staring down a period of misery. Does that mean that head coach Mike Smith is on his way out of town?
Smith who took the Falcons job in 2008, has never had a losing season with the franchise, yet seems to be destined for one now.
