Found September 20, 2012 on No Coast Bias :
Whew.  As I write this, its now been four days since the Chiefs took their latest thumping, this time at the hands of the Buffalo Bills.  I’m not going to recap the game, because it basically went like this:  Buffalo handed off to C.J. Spiller who scored.  Chiefs get the ball, go three and out. Repeat.  That’s pretty tough to watch folks.  It’s pretty tough to watch four quarters of the defense not being able to stop the run, the offense struggling to pick up first downs, and the quarterback getting sacked, fumbling the ball, and throwing an interception.  Let’s go ahead and throw in allowing a punt return for a touchdown while we are at it.  For the second week in a row, the Chiefs failed at all three phases of the game.  And watching them play is supposed to be the highlight of my week? The problem with being a true fan, is that you’re committed to your team, win or lose.  My obsession comes from my childhood, where I started actively watching them play in 1992 at the tender age o...

Buffalo Bills week two reaction: CJ Spiller carries the load in bounce-back performance

After the Bills were mauled by the New York Jets in week one, Buffalo bounced back with a huge win over the lowly Kansas City Chiefs, 35-17. The Bills played their game, which evidently is a healthy serving of CJ Spiller, mixed with a side of Ryan Fitzpatrick. Spiller was stellar for the second straight week, rushing for 123 yards and two touchdowns. He also contributed to the...

Buffalo Bills vs. Cleveland Browns: C.J. Spiller Will Run Wild

I know, it’s Cleveland hosting Buffalo; not exactly a recipe for excitement.Admit it, both these teams have been just terrible the last five years.Sure, in 2007 the 10-6 Browns were first in the AFC North, the same year Buffalo took second in the AFC East (though with a slightly less impressive 7-9 record), but conditions were near blizzard level when they met that year, resulting...

CJ Spiller the real deal?

CJWhen CJ Spiller was drafted by the Buffalo Bills three years ago out of Clemson, the move had many Bills fans wondering why they would draft a running back when they already had Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson in the backfield. Well times have certainly changed in Western New York, and so has the outlook on the draft pick made by Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey. The Bills no longer...

Bills-Browns Preview

C.J. Spiller came up big again, but solid defense, special teams and quarterback play also helped the Buffalo Bills break into the win column last week. The Cleveland Browns are still looking for the right combination that will help them earn their first victory in nine games, which they'll try for Sunday against a Buffalo team looking to end an eight-game road slide. After...

Browns aim to slow down Spiller

BEREAWhen the season started, Fred Jackson was at the top of the depth chart for the Bills. However, as happens so often in the NFL, when a player goes down with injury another player explodes on the scene. That is the case with running back C.J. Spiller, who took over when Jackson hurt his knee in the season opener after just six carries. Jackson is not expected to play this week...

NFL Rumors: Can C.J. Spiller Permanently ‘Wally Pipp’ Fred Jackson As Buffalo Bills Top RB?

“He’s been Pipp’d.” That is what sports fans say whenever a player loses his starting job after suffering an injury and watches his replacement step in and permanently take his job. It was first coined back in 1925 after the man himself, Wally Pipp. he was the first baseman for the New York Yankees, but either asked out of or was sat for a game and replaced by Lou Gehrig...

Buffalo Bills vs. Cleveland Browns – Dawg Pound Preview

We are only 2 weeks into the season and the people of Western New York have already experienced the super highs and ultra lows that come along with being a fan of the Buffalo Bills.  After week 1 I could have sworn I saw the sky falling through my living room window, and after week 2 I was seen floating around in the clouds by the HSBC building.  We can’t help it, that is...

Potential trade targets for the Buffalo Bills

In two polarizing weeks, Ryan Fitzpatrick, C.J. Spiller and the Buffalo Bills showed fans a full range of possibilities. They sat back and allowed the New York Jets to pummel them, then dished that treatment out in kind to the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s safe to say the real Buffalo Bills fall somewhere in the middle of all that. If so, then it’s tough to argue this team is perfect...

NFL Week 2: Buffalo vs Kansas City Recap

BUFFALO (35) d KANSAS CITY (17) The Headline: Bills run riot over misfiring Chiefs The Story: A run of big plays for the Bills gave their fans flashbacks to the opening week of 2011 where they blew out the Chiefs 41-7 as part of their hot start. This year both teams were coming off brutal week one losses, Buffalo to the Jets and the Chiefs to Atlanta and neither one was overly excited...

Buffalo Bills at Cleveland Browns NFL Week 3 Preview

Rick Stewart/Getty Images Quick, name the top player in all of fantasy football at the non-quarterback position in PPR leagues? If you guessed it was a guy that grabbed by yours truly in the mid to later stages of your drafts, then give yourself a pat on the back. C.J. Spiller has gone bonkers in his last seven games (going back to final three from last year) totaling for 7 TD and...

Ruminating on Romeo

So I know we are still in the afterglow of the Bills’ victory on Sunday.  C.J. Spiller continues to impress.  The defense made amends for their horror–show performance in the Meadowlands a week earlier.  And at least for one week, Ryan Fitzpatrick left the turnovers to the capable right arm of Jay Cutler.  Just indulge me a moment to look back through the magic of...

Dick Jauron Has To Get His Browns Defense Up To Par

The Cleveland Browns Defense is ranked near the bottom of the pile after the two games they played this season. Jauron’s defense has given up nearly a half of ton of yardage in the 2 games they played and still have difficulty stopping the run. For the Browns to try to put a win in the books this Sunday, the Cleveland defense is going to have to stop Buffalo’s CJ Spiller who...

Week 3 staff predictions: Bills vs Browns

Chris: 24-14, Cleveland- My hometown versus my college town. I remember when the Browns came back to the NFL that I had a soft spot for them and even thought of adopting them as my second team. Then I went to school in Cleveland, learned that Cleveland sports fans give Buffalo's a run for their relative sporting IQ and the rest is history. The Browns offense was anemic...

Week 3 RB Rankings

Week 3 RB Rankings Darren McFadden still finds himself ranked as a top twelve fantasy option in week three as a breakout game is inevitable. It may take until Denarius Moore proves he is healthy and able to take the top off of the defense so the opposition doesn’t put eight or nine on the box on every play, but D-Mac will breakout, it just might not happen against the Steelers...

Buffalo has KC's Number

After starting last season with a 41-7 spanking in Arrowhead stadium, the Bills had their usual roller coaster season before falling apart, and finishing 6-10. Then this season came the promise of success throughout the Bills organization. As a Bills fan myself, I rode the bandwagon into the season with as high a hopes as anybody. Then Buffalo started by getting spanked down in...
