One Jet At A Time:
New York Jets
It was the battle of rookies on Sunday at Metlife. Second round QB selection Geno Smith squared off againt first round QB selection EJ Manuel, in the first of what could be many division matchups. There were some ups and downs from both offenses, but only one team came out with a victory. The wall that was the defensive front 7 for the Jets proved to be huge factor, once again.
Many analysts had Geno Smith as the first QB selected in the draft, but because of character issues, that isn't what happened. And so it was EJ taken, 16th overall, with Geno being left out for the second round. Both QB's have pretty identical talent, so either one would have sufficed for the Jets or Bills. Geno may have said that the game against the QB that 1upd him in the draft meant nothing, but that certainly isn't the way he played.
Aside Of A Couple Hiccups, Geno Looked Like An NFL QB For The First Time
Now, I'm still not completely sold on him, but he's slightly turning...

What have been your early impressions of Geno Smith?
Joe Caporoso - I’ve been impressed with Geno Smith’s arm strength and athletic ability...
Let me say something that many people, including great football minds, did not think they would hear. The New York Jets are 2-1.In reality, they could be 3-0 if they protected the ball against the New England Patriots in Week 2.But, something tells me that the team is content with their record. It does not matter who they played or how ugly the wins have been, the team is playing...
I would say E.J. Manuel is possibly the Rookie of the Month for September. Although the Buffalo Bills, who drafted the QB in the first round out of Florida State, are only 1-2 record-wise going into this Sunday's game, it certainly appears they have found a genuine quarterback who can lead them into parts unknown in the future.
Manuel will be a challenge for the Ravens defense...
Even after leading the New York Jets on a game-winning touchdown drive on Sunday, rookie quarterback Geno Smith isn't masking his turnovers or attributing his mistakes to a lack of experience. Find out what Smith had to say about Gang Green's thrilling Week 3 win and how he plans to limit his miscues in the weeks to follow.

Jay Z is a mogul. Whether it be music, fashion and now apparently sports. Jay Z formed Roc Nation Sports, a sports management division of Jay Z’s Roc Nation talent agency, in 2013. Roc Nation Sports may have a small amount of clients, but they have big names and Jets QB Geno Smith is one of them.
Jay z congratulated Geno Smith on his...
QB Geno Smith: Geno is coming out of week 3 having just put up 345 total yards and 3 total td’s. This week he faces the Titans and Tennessee has been pretty good against qb’s this year, but with the versatile Bilal Powell in the backfield and the emergence of Santonio Holmes, Geno has a good opportunity for continued success this week. The Jets defense should force additional...
Geno Smith has been getting a lot of congratulations over the first few weeks of the NFL season. On Sunday, he got some from one of his idols.
After leading the Jets to their second win of the season on Sunday, Smith attended a joint birthday party for Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant and rapper Wale, who both just so happen to be managed by Roc Nation. The event brought...
We could sit here and complain all day about how poorly E.J. Manuel and the Buffalo Bills have played in last week’s game against the Jets. There were mistakes, missed opportunities, and penalties that were costly in the loss. The fact of the matter is, through three weeks in the NFL regular season, the 2013 Buffalo Bills look more promising and closer to a competitor than they...
The Turn On The Jets film room is back to break down the New York Jets passing game in their 27-20 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Today we focus on the team’s success with the deep ball as Geno Smith connected on four passes of 40 yards or longer, two to Stephen Hill and two to Santonio Holmes. Let’s go to the tape and see how the Jets successfully executed these big plays....
I swear, if the New York Jets handedly won a game, us crazed fans wouldn’t know how to act. Another ugly win, smh…but still a win nonetheless. Yesterday, the Jets got it done against the Buffalo Bills, 27-20.
- It’s nice to have an offensive coordinator, Marty Mornhinweg, who calls aggressive games. He recognized the Bills secondary was shorthanded, missing...
This always happens with the Jets. I swear. Maybe it is my hatred towards their fan base and just having to live in enemy territory that makes me want to really beat down Gang Green. Just every time I feel confident heading into a Bills/Jets game, they just spank the **** out of us. I never pick the Bills to win games unless they are against a Florida team or Cleveland. So, when...
Let the bye weeks begin... Carolina and Green Bay are getting some early time off before a long 13 game streak to close out the year. Personally, I prefer a later bye. There are several fantasy weapons who won't be playing this week so do the right thing; put them on your bench. Here's a list of some top waiver adds going into week 4. Get your claims in. Player Week...
(Photo credit: Ron Antonelli/Getty Images ) Surprise, surprise, the New York Jets are 2-1. With rookie quarterback Geno Smith as the starter, much has been said about his play and the two wins that have come during that time. While Smith was mostly to blame for the 13-10 week 2 loss to the New England Patriots, […]
According to Joe Buscaglia of WGR550.com, Bills receiver Stevie Johnson (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday.Fantasy Spin:Johnson was held out of Wednesday's practice as a precaution but should play Sunday against the Ravens. Rookie QB E.J. Manuel has been better than expected and Johnson has hauled in 17 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns on 29 targets this season.
