On Thursday March 7, 2013, the Redskins general manager Bruce Allen attended a hearing before three judges of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board about whether the team name should be deemed a racial slur. A Native American Activist Group provided their case to prove to the board panel at the U.S. Patent Office that the team name was offensive to American Indians and is a slur that should not be trademarked. The U.S. Patent Office last granted the Redskins trademark rights back in 2003. The decision made by the U.S. Patent Office board will not be released for another few months.Overall, if this activist group wins the trial against Dan Snyder and the Redskins, the Redskins will not be allowed to trademark their team name. The impact of this does not necessarily result in a mandated name change. It does however have broad reaching impact on the marketing rights. Basically, if the activist group wins this Patent Trial, anyone can sell and recreate Redskins paraphernalia with no risk...

Redskins GM: Cap penalty a 'travesty'

General Manager Bruce Allen said Monday the Washington Redskins were the victims of a ''travesty of fairness'' because of a $36 million salary cap penalty that has severely hampered the team's offseason plans. Allen hedged, however, when asked whether the team was warned ahead of time about the behavior that brought forth the sanction, saying only that the team...

Redskins Just Told DeAngelo Hall He Isn’t Worth That Kind Of Money, He Never Was, That’s Why They Cut Him.

Is there anyone on the Washington Redskins Defense that is worth 8 million dollars a year? The defense ranked 30th in the NFL last season. Redskins re-sign Lichtensteiger: Wunderbar

The Washington Redskins finally reached five-year deal with Korey Lichtensteiger and all I can say is: Wunderbar, German for wonderful. The Redskins offensive line in 2012 was one of the best in the NFL and Lichtensteiger was one of the best members of that line. Alfred Morris could not have had his rookie record-breaking season without that offensive line. The only question it raises...
