Vick got one more in him?
First of all my condolences to all the Eagle fans on their 2012-13 season, I really didn’t expect things to get this bad. As a matter of fact I actually picked the Eagles to win this division when I did the season previews for this site. Well after last nights loss to the Panthers in prime-time the Eagles fans are wondering what do we go from here?
…
Anybody wanna get Donovan on the phone?
End of a Era
Two things the we are sure will happen is that Mike Vick and Andy Reid will be gone. For Reid it will be the end of a era and his tenure as Eagles coach will always be respected. He never brought the city a championship but each year he was on the sidelines this Eagles team was one of the top teams in the league. It’s the circle of life in the NFL and it’s just time for him to go. No need to hang your head Andy you had a good run.
Welp
One thing that is lost in all this Andy Reid talk is the fact that he went into this year trying to coach after the death of his son. The NFL is a no excuses league but if there was ever a time to throw one in there … I’m just saying. The work had to be therapeutic for him and a way for him to take his mind off his son but you can’t just punch the clock and act like the death of your son isn’t going to effect your work. Couple that with some injuries and just a bad execution and you have the implosion that is the 2012 Eagles.
One More Chapter for Vick?
How will this story end for Mike Vick? … After the rise and the fall and then the rise again surely this can’t be how Mike Vick leaves the game. From the Mike Vick experience to him running for his life in Philly is not how this story is supposed to end. Going into the season I saw the combination of McCoy, D.Jackson, and Maclin as a pretty explosive unit and thought they would do work to the tune of at least 10-6. Maybe next year i’ll just keep my predictions to myself. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong and it didn’t help that after a few games his offensive line was as strong as one ply toilet paper.
The Eagles would have been better off just going out there with no offensive lineman and asking the d-linemen to count to 5 mississippi before they rushed. He didn’t stand a chance .. and then the concussions came. From the hits that I saw I’m sure he had more than just that one that put him on the bench.
So where do we go from here?
I took a look at all the teams in the leagues and if Vick still wanted to start for a NFL team I got 3 possible destinations for him. Kansas City Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders are all places he could be signed and be the unquestioned starter. There are several other teams he could go and be a backup but Mike wants to start.
Chiefs and Raiders are two teams Mike could go to if he just wanted to get one last paycheck. He wouldn’t win but he would start and that is probably the end of it. The best situation for him would be Arizona is has major QB issues. It would be weird for him to follow Kolb there and him being the reason they cut him. .. Actually that would be pretty funny. In Arizona you have a decent defense, a good running game and a stud wide receiver that is just wasting away out there. If I’m Vick I’m telling my agent that is the place I want to be.
Eagles fan you’ve had a good run of being a competitive ball club but now it’s time to blow that thing up like you did that old piece of crap stadium you used to play in. However, there is some good new for you.
You only have to play 6 more games and it will all be over.

Cam Newton: Michael Vick and I have a rare skill set that is a gift and a curse
Cam Newton has been compared to Michael Vick ever since he burst onto the scene at Auburn and led the Tigers to a national championship. While many will argue that their comparisons are race related, Newton understands that the comparison stems mostly from the fact that both quarterbacks can make plays with their arm and their legs. Newton says that dual-threat ability has its benefits...
