Taking Bad Schotz:
New England Patriots
If there is one distinct advantage that the Pittsburgh Steelers hold over their AFC North rivals in Baltimore, it’s their vertical passing game. In 2011, the Ravens only had two receivers (Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith who were the only receivers to have more than 4 receptions. But neither Boldin nor Smith had more than 57 receptions. If you’re a Ravens fan, these unimpressive stats should alarm you. In today’s NFL, it’s amazing that the Ravens had as good a season as they did with their lack of weapons on the outside. With a clear need to improve at the wide receiver position this offseason, there has been speculation that the Ravens could make a run at Mike Wallace. The reality, however, is that the Ravens do not have a whole lot of cap space. Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome has always been protective of high draft picks, and has downplayed his team’s interest in Wallace. “There’s going to be some restricted free agents that we would like, but is it going to be worth giving up a signif...

We're not one to blindly dispute what others say. If there's a website out there that we routinely disagree with (and there's plenty), we merely read the post or ignore it all together. It's not our place to say when someone's wrong about something because the beauty of one's opinion rarely requires absolute solution. It's an opinion and whether you...
The salary cap strapped Steelers may not be able to keep their top WR this offseason, and it sounds like Wallace is OK with moving on from Pittsburgh as well.
Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert addressed the media today at the 2012 NFL combine and of course he was asked about restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace. Colbert said the Steelers were going to do everything that they can do to keep Wallace with the Steelers. He told the media today that Wallace has the same goal as the Steelers do, and that is to get...
Mike Wallace has emerged as a rising star for the Pittsburgh Steelers ever since being drafted in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft. It seems that he would be the new receiver for Ben Roethlisberger to grow with but things aren’t exactly going the way Pittsburgh wants it to. As if the playoff loss to the Denver Broncos seemed bad, it will only get worse in a couple weeks when...

We get right back into the hot topics that include the Pittsburgh Steelers salary cap problems coming right into line after the restructuring on Thursday of the contract of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. I give you the up to date numbers of where the Steelers sit...
How does Mike Wallace opposite of A.J. Green sound? It sounds like a lot of worried defensive backs to me. ESPN''s Adam Schefter is reporting that Mike Wallace, who is a restricted free agent, may be pursued by the Bengals. In order to obtain Wallace, the Bengals would have to sign him and an offer sheet and hope that Pittsburgh declines to match it. The Bengals would also...
Now that the Todd Haley & Ben Roethlisberger soap opera can finally take a back seat to the real news; issues such as how to handle Mike Wallace are now firmly at the forefront. In an interview on SiriusXM today (as reported by the Pittsburgh Trib), Wallace spoke about how things are going so far this off season and his thoughts on remaining in Pittsburgh: “(Pittsburgh is...
Steelers G.M. Kevin Colbert threw cold water Thursday on the notion that wide receiver Mike Wallace will be going anywhere this offseason. “We’re going to do everything we can to make sure Mike Wallace remains a Pittsburgh Steeler. And I think that’s Mike’s hope as well. Usually when you have two parties that share the…
More news out of the media day at the 2012 NFL combine as Steelers GM Kevin Colbert talked extensively about the personnel moves the team is faced with. In addition to talking about how they intend to do everything they can to keep Mike Wallace, and that the status of Hines Ward hasn’t changed, he [...]
