The Philadelphia Eagles rounded out a perfect preseason with their 28-10 win over the New York Jets on Thursday night. That’s all well and good, but we know it’s just the preseason.
Last night’s game had some very real implications for men struggling for a spot on the team’s roster, which must be trimmed from the current 74 down to 53 by 9 pm Friday evening. So who helped their cause on Thursday?
-Trent Edwards: Edwards did it all last night–threw, slid, and and ran. He was 22/32 for 197 yards and 2 touchdowns for a passer rating of 105.9. Edwards also had 36 rushing yards on 4 carries.
In his postgame remarks, Andy Reid was complimentary of Edwards’ play.
I thought [QB] Trent Edwards played well. He had a lot of drives, and a lot of touchdowns there, so you have to give him credit for that along with the offensive line…I thought he played well and did a nice job.
