With the NFL draft just a few days away, it’s time for Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, and numerous other pundits to begin cramming their spreadsheets and practicing their soapbox rants about “value picks” and “potential sleepers.” While instantly grading team’s drafts is one of the most knee jerk actions ever in a knee jerk industry, it does at least have some merit to take a look at which teams go into the draft weekend with a wealth of picks to stockpile talent or move up the draft board.  The following four teams have put themselves in position to draft several players who could keep their team’s stock rising, and perhaps give Mike Mayock an NFL Network-sized boner. The Bengals may try and add some pieces to help out the Red Rifle with their numerous draft picks. Cincinnati Bengals Bengals fans were in shock last season when Mike Brown actually pulled a shrewd GM move and got Cincy another first round pick for the team to play with this year in the Carson Palmer deal. Coming off a playo...

QB's dad disagrees with scouts' takes

Kellen Moore's father thinks the fact that his son is only six feet tall shouldn't drop him down NFL teams' draft boards.

Packers Draft Review: 2008 (Brohm is Better than Rodgers)

In reviewing past Packer drafts, I stumbled across this beauty on youtube.   Todd McShay and Merril Hodge should no longer be on television.  Please watch and listen for the garbage that comes out of their mouth.  If I was this inaccurate at my job, I would certainly be removed from my position.  If you plan on watching any of the draft over the next few days, realize that you...

Hopefully We're Smarter than Todd McShay

It is NFL Draft day. Everyone rejoice. It's like the single best day for football between the end of the Super Bowl and the begining of training camp. You will not have another day so full of Vikings purple, rollercoastered emotions, Chris Berman's fat ******* face, and all the things that make this cash cow so enjoyable. Unfortunately, this is also the time of year when...

Dolphins owner wants Tannehill

If owner Stephen Ross gets his way, the Dolphins will take the Texas A&M QB if he makes it to the eighth pick in Thursday's Draft.

NFL Draft: McShay and Kiper Peg Browns with Richardson, Weeden

Cleveland Browns fans who didn’t approve of some of the selections in the recent seven-round mock draft can now set their sites on the version compiled by ESPN’s Todd McShay. In his latest endeavor, McShay has the Browns selecting the following 13 players: 1 (4) Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama 1 (22) C0rdy Glenn, OT, Georgia 2 (37) Brandon Weeden, QB, Oklahoma State 3...

Mock Drafts: Mayock, Kiper and McShay all predict Broncos will draft DTs

The mock drafts of Mike Mayock, Mel Kiper, Jr., and Todd McShay have all been updated to their final versions (or, in the case of Mayock, his first and only version). One thing is clear, the experts agree: the Denver Broncos should draft a defensive tackle. But none of them agree on the player. Check it out — Mike Mayock – 25. Denver Broncos — Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis I...

G$'s NFL Mock Draft

I hate Todd McShay. The Draft is tonight.  There was a small discussion yesterday about people choosing NFL Network over ESPN.  It's hard to argue against that.  Berman and Gruden are the worst.  But I'm an ardent supporter of Mel Kiper, Jr and I will always be faithful to him.  He made the NFL Draft what it is today.  FACT.  The best part about this year's coverage...

Trades may be the new norm at the top of the draft

There was widespread speculation last year when the new CBA was signed that it would facilitate an increased number of draft day trades. I don't know whether that will pan out over the entire draft or not, but it does almost guarantee that teams will be more willing to trade up into the top 10 or 15 to get a player they really want. We've already seen one blockbuster move...

NFL Draft: Start Time, TV Schedule, and Live Blog

The NFL Draft kicks off tonight at 8:00 ET on ESPN. That’s right, the endless poking, prodding, preening, and pretending will finally coalesce into actual draft picks going to actual teams so that we can all move onto substantial, consequential matters like doling out immediate draft grades before any of the players have even played a down. Ah…gotta love the draft. NFL Draft...
