Week 1 was exceptionally exciting this year. The Steelers and Titans set the tone for the week with a nail biter settled in overtime. The Patriots jumped on Tom Brady's back in the fourth quarter and road their way to their first win of the season. This article will break down the Week 1 winners who are living on beginner's luck. 1. New England Patriots The Patriots pulled off a miracle in the fourth quarter. If the Bills settle for a touchback in the final minutes of the game we're talking about one of the biggest upsets of week 1. Instead we're ho-humming about Tom Brady working another fourth quarter miracle and ANOTHER Patriots win. Sure Tom added to his legacy, but unfortunately with the shaky play of their defense against a terrible Bills offense, the Patriots are NOT here to stay. 2. New Orleans Saints The New Orleans Saints were very lucky to open their season against the only NFL team I believe USC could beat. Drew Brees six touchdown passes were very impressive. I think Drew Brees is here to stay however the Saints will not be. They have too many question marks on defense and I don't see the Falcons backing down any time soon. The Saints are not here to stay. 3. Denver Broncos This should come as no surprise to Broncos fans, Kyle Orton is not your savior, and Jay Cutler will never have as bad of a game as he did against the Packers. The Broncos beat the Bengals by luck. There is no doubt the Bengals are a tougher opponent than they have been in previous years but the Broncos Week 1 win was a fluke and they will not be staying undefeated for long. The Denver Broncos' winning record is not here to stay. 4. Philadelphia Eagles The Philadelphia Eagles ran all over the Panthers on Sunday. And they should have. When a quarterback throws four picks in one game you better blow that team out. Especially when one of their running backs is playing at what I'd say was 65%. You might be a little surprised by this one but I think in a division with the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants, the Eagles are NOT here to stay. 5. San Francisco 49ers The San Francisco 49ers surprised me a little bit in Week 1 with their road win against the defending NFC champion Cardinals. I'm thinking that the Cardinals are going to have a tough season ahead of them (typical Superbowl hangover). The 49ers will be very average this year but their winning ways are not here to stay. 6. Seattle Seahawks Seattle Seahawks looked like world beaters out their on Sunday, embarrassing the St. Louis Rams in Seattle 28-0. I liked what I saw from the Seahawks but it's going to take a couple more road wins to sell me on these guys. The Seahawks didn't win by fluke, but they will not be here to stay.
