While John Lynch gets all giddy about the “violent finish” Trent Richardson lays on Kurt Coleman, tell me how this isn’t leading with a helmet and fine-worthy. If Coleman did this to Richardson, he’d probably be suspended and the subject of an Outside the Lines piece on concussions.
The American Academy of Neurologyjust just came out with a study noting that NFL players are at a much greater risk of Alzheimer’s and ALS; and SI has Jim McMahon on the cover this week not knowing that he’s on the cover of SI this week, and here’s the Fox announcer pissing his pants with joy.
Football is football and I get it, but if you want us to be concerned with player safety, as we should be, then keep it real and don’t be hypocritical and scapegoat defenders.
