TEAMS: New York Jets, Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, San Diego Chargers
With just a few games to play in the 2012 regular season, it's starting to become apparent which coaches will survive and which coaches will be hitting the road. This weekend's round of games pushed a few coaches one step closer to being dismissed. Here's the short list of coaches hitting the road following the conclusion of the season. 5) Rex Ryan, NYJ: Another close game against an inferior opponent didn't help Ryan out much. The Jets will need to make the postseason for Ryan to hang on to his job, and with the Bengals and Steelers both outpacing the Jets, it seems unlikely at best that New York sneaks in. 4) Jim Schwartz, DET: The Lions either jump out early and lose late, or they get beat up early, mount a furious comeback and fall just short. Either way, the Lions can't put together 60 minutes of football, and it's getting increasingly more difficult to blame it on personnel. 3) Mike Munchak, TEN: The Titans were supposed to be a solid team this se...

Norv turns to Craigslist for job search?
The San Diego Chargers will be searching for a new head coach, if they haven’t started already.
Norv Turner recently told Jim Nantz of CBS that he’s accepted his fate.
“We all know in the end what the final outcome will be,” Turner told Nantz, who repeated it during the broadcast.
Someone in San Diego is looking out for Norv as this Craigslist ad was placed in San Diego....
Chargers' win not expected to save Turner's job
Chargers President Dean Spanos presented Norv Turner with a game ball after San Diego stunned the Steelers, its first regular-season victory in Pittsburgh in 15 tries.
That's the same Dean Spanos who is expected to fire Turner, most likely along with general manager A.J. Smith, shortly after this dismal season ends.
The 34-24 victory Sunday isn't expected to change anything...
Report: Cardinals won't fire Whisenhunt during season
Arizona Cardinals president Michael Bidwill said the team would not fire head coach Ken Whisenhunt before the end of the season, the Arizona Republic reported Monday. Bidwill told the Republic the Cardinals don't want to make an emotional response to the team's 58-0 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, which gave the Cardinals a nine-game losing streak. Bidwill called the loss...
Cardinals' Whisenhunt soldiers on after ugly loss
Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt is soldiering on.
A day after the Cardinals endured the most one-sided loss in franchise history, the team's ninth defeat in a row, Whisenhunt said he will stick with what he knows has worked in the past.
In the locker room before the Monday team meeting, defensive tackle Darnell Dockett said he would keep playing hard for defensive coordinator...
Embattled coach, Cards vow to keep fighting
TEMPE, Ariz. The only significant news coming from the Cardinals complex on Monday was that there was no news, unless you count Darnell Docketts running feud with head coach Ken Whisenhunt, which is actually old news.
Nobody was talking about imminent change. Whisenhunt is still the coach. Ray Horton is not. Rod Graves is still the general manager. Mike Miller is still the offensive...
Bidwill: No coaching decision during season
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Cardinals president Michael Bidwill says Ken Whisenhunt will remain the coach for the rest of the season.
I dont intend to make any decisions based on emotion, Bidwill told a small group of reporters at the Cardinals practice complex late Monday afternoon in his first public comments on the topic. Yesterdays loss was extremely disappointing -- unacceptable. Its extremely...
Cardinals President Says Ken Whisenhunt Will Finish Season As Head Coach
Cardinals President Michael Bidwill said late Monday afternoon that Ken Whisenhunt would remain as coach for the final three games of the season, Scott Bordow of the Arizona Republic reports.
Bidwill said he wanted a complete set of facts before determining whether Whisenhunt would return as coach in 2013. He also said finances are not a factor; Whisenhunt has a year left on...
Cards make it clear: Time for Whisenhunt to go
Theres no sense belaboring this. Michael Bidwill should fire coach Ken Whisenhunt, and he should do it now.
It will be an empty gesture. Nobodys going to win with the offense the Cardinals trot on the field each week. Nobodys going to win with John Skelton and Ryan Lindley at quarterback. Nobodys going to win with eight turnovers.
It will be a reactionary gesture, too. But you...

Bolts commence ‘Operation: Save Norv’
The San Diego Union-Tribune reported earlier this week that the Norv Turner Errora will come to a close at the end of yet another disappointing season for the Chargers.
But it turns out Norval was just getting us warmed up for his greatest job-saving trick ever.
With Sunday’s Tim Allen-grunt-inducing 34-24 win at Pittsburgh — the first in franchise history save the 1994 AFC Championship...
Panthers-Chargers Preview
The San Diego Chargers and Carolina Panthers are coming off impressive wins - one against a potential playoff team and the other against a division champion.
Those victories just came a little too late.
San Diego may enter Sunday still clinging to the slimmest hopes for a playoff berth as it hosts Carolina, which has already been eliminated.
The Chargers (5-8) lost four straight...
Cardinals To Start QB Ryan Lindley Vs Lions
Ken Whisenhunt is at it again, the Cardinals coach announced Wednesday that rookie Ryan Lindley will start Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.
Lindley relieved John Skelton during last week's 58-0 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Skelton rattled off four interceptions in that defeat before giving way to Lindley. The rookie has thrown five picks of his own in two starts...
