Ken Whisenhunt 300x210 Whisenhunts turn on the hot seatThis season marks Ken Whisenhunt’s sixth year with the Arizona Cardinals as their head coach.  Whisenhunt experienced early success with the team going 8-8 in his first year in 2007, and a remarkable second year in 2008; that with the help of quarterback Kurt Warner the Cardinals were able to finish the season with a 9-7 record and an appearance in the Super Bowl.  Since then however, the team has experienced one good season, going 10-6 in 2008, which was then followed up by two mediocre seasons.

As many fans know, the NFL, and professional sports as a whole, have turned into a what have you done for me lately type of businesses.  Well lately the Cardinals have not been a team to be feared, and started out the season considered by many experts as one of the worst teams in the league.  How can something like this happen after great success just three years ago?  The answer is that Whisenhunt inherited good players when taking the job in 2007, which is the reason for the early success.  However, once Warner retired, the Cardinals started going downhill as Whisenhunt was unable to find a decent replacement for Warner at quarterback.… Read more

Kolb relieved...

Jay Feely Freaks Out On Sideline

The 4th quarter of the Arizona Cardinals 20-18 victory over the New England Patriots provided a lot of dramatics – a missed game-winning field goal, touchdown called back, fumble, and a failed 2-point conversion. Prior to the two-minute warning, the Patriots kicked off to Cardinals RB Larod Stephens-Howling who settled for a touchback instead of running the ball out of the end...

Cardinals stun the nation with a win in New England

The Cardinals suddenly look like a real football team, and that's thanks in no small part to an under appreciated defensive unit that held the Patriots to just 18 points in a stunning victory against the New England Patriots. Oddly enough, the Cardinals held the lead most of the game, but in classic Tom Brady fashion, the Patriots made a run to tie the game late....

Arizona Cardinals Look to Break Series Tie Sunday Against New England

As the 1-0 Arizona Cardinals get set to fly east to take on the 1-0 New England Patriots on Sunday, let’s take a look at some interesting notes in their all-time series: 1) The overall series is tied up at 6-6. 2) The Patriots have won the last five contests. 3) The last time the two teams met was on a snowy day in Foxboro in Dec. 2008. This is one the Red Birds would like to forget...

Kolb throws, runs for TDs, Cards top Pats

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. Kevin Kolb replaced him and passed for the decisive touchdown...

WSU NOTEBOOK: Will it be Tuel or Halliday?

LAS VEGAS – Mike Leach is an accomplished football coach, but his greatest skill might be his ability to answer a question at length without providing an answer. Alas, it is the reporter’s solemn duty to ask questions. So, Mike, who’s it going to be at quarterback next week – Jeff Tuel or Connor Halliday?
