This season marks Ken Whisenhunt’s sixth year with the Arizona Cardinals as their head coach.  Whisenhunt experienced early success with the team going 8-8 in his first year in 2007, and a remarkable second year in 2008; that with the help of quarterback Kurt Warner the Cardinals were able to finish the season with a 9-7 record and an appearance in the Super Bowl.  Since then however, the team has experienced one good season, going 10-6 in 2008, which was then followed up by two mediocre seasons.

As many fans know, the NFL, and professional sports as a whole, have turned into a what have you done for me lately type of businesses.  Well lately the Cardinals have not been a team to be feared, and started out the season considered by many experts as one of the worst teams in the league.  How can something like this happen after great success just three years ago?  The answer is that Whisenhunt inherited good players when taking the job in 2007, which is the reason for the early success.  However, once Warner retired, the Cardinals started going downhill as Whisenhunt was unable to find a decent replacement for Warner at quarterback.… Read more
