Cincinnati Bengals Blog:
Even though there wasn’t a vote on a Collective Bargaining Agreement, Bengals player rep Andrew Whitworth sent an email to players today that they continue to get closer to a deal and that he remains hopeful that training camp will be at Georgetown College next weekend.
“There are more things that have to unfold but we’re continuing to get closer,” Whitworth said. “Hopefully things will get finished.”
Whitworth and the other NFLPA player reps met in Washington on Wednesday but did not vote on an agreement. He said he expects plenty of conference calls the next couple days once an agreement in principle is reached.
Owners are meeting today in Atlanta where it is hoped that they will vote on a CBA today. Bengals Executive Vice President Katie Blackburn told Local 12′s Brad Johansen: “I hope we vote today. We’re ready to get going.”
