The Jets Blog:
It is never too early to start looking at the draft. With the Senior Bowl practice in full gear, I’ve been searching the internet to discover who the Jets are taking in interest in.
According to Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball.com, the Jets really like Arizona State Wide Receiver Gerell Robinson. At 6-4, 220, Robinson is everything Jets fans have been asking for. A young, physical, athletic, tall, wide receiver. Robinson is tall, physical, with above average hands. His speed is average and he’s come on the scene just this year. While he’s slated to be a 5th round pick, Campbell states that he’s been very impressive during this week’s practice, so I assume his stock will rise.
Scott Wright and Shane P. Hallam of DraftCountDown.com, have reported that the Jets have also been linked to Penn State CB D’Anton Lynn. Lynn is the son of Jets RB coach Anthony Lynn, so this could have been just an informal meeting between the two parties. Regardless, Lynn is projected to be 7th round pic...

Yesterday we looked at the New York Jets players on offense who disappointed. Today we will focus on the defense and special teams. Unfortunately these two lists combine to be much longer than the players who exceeded expectations in 2011.

Congrats to Plaxico Burress who won the Sporting News Comeback Player of 2011 award.
His numbers did not compare with those of his prime seasons, but Burress proved that, after missing two seasons while serving 20 months in prison following his conviction on weapons charges, he is still a capable NFL wide receiver. And for that, he is our 2011 comeback player of the year.
While many Jets fans expect that LT won’t be returning to the Jets in 2012, he has yet to make a formal announcement about whether or not he will play to the NFL again. This B/R article gives a unique reason for why LaDainian won’t return to the NFL in 2012.
… why would LT, who has rarely spoken ill of anyone, talk openly and repeatedly to media about the inner-sanctum...
The Jets have announced the hiring of Dave DeGuglielmo, affectionately known as Googs, as the new offensive line coach.
DeGuglielmo joins the Jets after spending the last three seasons as Miami’s offensive line coach (2009-11). Under DeGuglielmo this season, the Dolphins’ offensive line blocked for a running game that gained 1,987 yards and produced Reggie Bush’s first career...

You can say that, since we haven’t lost since then. That week was an emotional week for everyone. We started to click that week.
We just found that 11 guys playing as one is hard to beat. A lot of this season, we played as individuals. But not anymore. We’ve got that confidence now that, if it’s close, we’re going to come together and pull it out.”
ST. LOUIS -- The Rams have hired former Jets assistant Brian Schottenheimer as its new offensive coordinator and Gregg Williams will run the defense.
New Rams coach Jeff Fisher announced the staff additions Monday.
Schottenheimer spent the past six seasons in the same position with the New York Jets. Williams...
