You see, at first, the Cowboys were trying. They were actually trying. And they were rewarded. 10-7 Cowboys at the end of the 1st quarter. But, of course, the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.
With 12:07 left in the 2nd quarter, the devil himself showed up. Giants linebacker Michael Boley hit Romo and, in slow motion, Jerry Jones’ life flashed before his eyes. The devil was laughing and taunting Jerry as he held his foot over Romo’s left clavicle. Then, while looking Jerry straight in the eye, the devil slowly pressed down. Hard. And, Jerry’s world – and season – cracked.
But, of course, G0d is there to lift us up. He created the heavens and the earth and Dez Bryant. A record breaking 93 yard punt return and the Cowboys were beating the Giants with a score of 20-7. We may have lost Romo but we’ve still got our defense, right?
Unless the devil returns and makes the defense suck. Which he did. Allowing 41 points. And a Giants win.
All we and Jerry can hope for now is that John Kitna has some good karma. And doesn’t channel Brad Johnson.
