The Washington Redskins carry only two quarterbacks on the 53-man roster, and on Sunday with Rex Grossman sick with pneumonia, Mike Shanahan didn't have a backup passer on the sidelines.
Grossman, who had a fever of 103, watched the game on television in the locker room while hooked up to an IV, but would have emerged and taken the field had John Beck gotten hurt.
