The Baltimore Ravens players are currently enjoying their bye week, while the coaches are performing a lot of self scouting to see what changes and adjustments need to be made to become more consistent on both sides of the football. Ravens101 laid out what changes and adjustments we want to see made by the Ravens after the bye week yesterday, but today we take a look at the upcoming schedule for the Ravens and some quick notes about the matchups.
Week 9 – @ Cleveland Browns (1-6) - This should be a good bounce back game for the Ravens, but should not be taken lightly. Remember this Browns team was still in the game at Baltimore a few weeks ago, and the defense had to come up with a play to keep Cleveland out of the endzone as time expired.
Week 10 – vs Oakland Raiders (2-4) – Yet another reason I think it is ludicrous that some football "experts" are writing the Ravens off already, this should mark two wins in a row following the bye week that would leave Baltimore 7-2 on the season. Oakland needed overtime at home to beat a Jacksonville team last week that was without Maurice Jones Drew and Blaine Gabbert most of the game.
Week 11 – @ Pittsburgh Steelers (3-3) – This is the one Baltimore fans can't wait for, division rival, on the road and likely to be a battle with huge implications in the division standings. Baltimore has two games before this one to make sure they have gotten both their offense and defense straightened out.
The panic button should not even have the shield off of it yet, as you can see, Baltimore is in great shape for some immediate success after the bye week and should be at worst, 7-3 after week 11 which will put them in great position for the second seed in the AFC Playoffs, and who knows, Houston could have a bump or two in the road and Baltimore can still have a shot at home field throughout the playoffs. Having said that, Baltimore better not look past Cleveland and Oakland as both have their moments and both can beat you on any given Sunday.
