As a native to northeast Ohio, Cleveland has been my city to defend and believe in. Given the current state of our national sports teams and struggling economy, upholding the optimism has proven to be a bit difficult. Relocating to an outlying suburb of Denver, Colorado didn’t ease the burden, either. All my life, I’ve never been a football fan. The rules change, overlap and just down right don’t make sense to a newcomer. But my man friend is enthralled by the game. So being the nice and caring lady friend that I am, I allowed him to attempt to teach me the sport. He failed, somewhat miserably, albeit garnering success in sparking my interest to continue to learn. What does a student do when he/she needs information? Turn to Wikipedia, of course. I spent the better portion of a workweek reading wiki article after NFL stat sheet, hoping to at least walk away with the minimum amount of understanding. The real test came that weekend, when the Broncos (reminder: I’m out in Colorado) pla...

For Browns Fans it’s Patience Within the Patience

Yesterday Tom Heckert spoke with Dustin Fox and Adam the Bull on 92.3 FM for nearly 30 minutes.  Certainly that was far more than he spoke when he and Mike Holmgren held a dual presser together at the end of the Browns season.  I thought the Bull and the Fox did a good job asking pretty pointed questions even if they didn’t get many answers.  They asked about Colt McCoy...

Browns to Contact Peyton Hillis’ Agent

Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis will become a free agent this offseason and it looks like the Browns might be interested in trying to work out a new contract. Browns general manager Tom Heckert said that he hasn’t spoken with Hillis’ reps since midseason and will do so again “in the next week or so.” “We wouldn’t be adverse to brining him back,” Heckert...

When They Miss the Playoffs, the Browns Really Miss the Playoffs

We all know that the Browns and their 4-12 record missed the playoffs, but it had me thinking.  Are there even any influential players left in the playoffs that are former Browns?  Obviously guys playing special teams for San Francisco are important like Blake Costanzo are important, but I’m excluding guys like that.  I mean like real, bona fide starters and difference-makers...

Cleveland Browns P.M. links: Timeline for hiring an offensive coordinator could be affected by other teams' job searches

Browns scored just 13.56 points per game with Pat Shurmur doubling as head coach and offensive coordinator. Several other teams are looking for not only head coaches, but people to run their offenses. Links to more Browns stories.

Not ready to start over at quarterback again - Browns Comment of the Day

"I'm not ready to start over again at the QB position. With Barkley and Jones staying in school, this will ultimately allow us to not draft a QB this year and give Colt one more chance to play well with weapons at his disposal. I feel that if Barkley would have came out, he would have been our pick." - jflow21
