PLAYERS: E.J. Manuel
TEAMS: Buffalo Bills
I'm sure we are all in agreement that this has been an entertaining ride so far for the Bills. Yes, it probably makes zero sense to outsiders that fans are excited about a 3 and 4 team, but screw it. We are masters of lowered expectations here, but there's also something genuinely fun about this season that makes it impossible to turn off. I wouldn't say it has gone as far as feeling like the playoffs are on the horizon, but the unpredictability is its own kind of fun. They could be 7-0! 6-1! 5-2! OR They could be 0-7! 1-6! 2-5! None of the above is hyperbole.  It's all true. In a way, this season kind of reminds me of the first 8 games of the 2002 season. Sure, the offense was much better, but those first 8 games were all over the place in terms of excitement and death-defying wins and losses. Seriously, I don't know whether to **** or go blind. I don't know if I'm watching a team grow or a team get lucky. Prime example (wit...

Bills RB Jackson overcomes left knee injury

Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson refuses to be slowed by a sprained left knee. Rather than allow himself to be carted off after aggravating the injury against Miami on Sunday, Jackson waved off the trainers and proceeded to return to the field to play a key role in a 23-21 victory. Jackson scored a touchdown and then helped secure the win in the final minutes. He gained...

NFL Week 7 Recap: Buffalo Bills defeat Miami Dolphins

The Buffalo Bills defeated the Miami Dolphins in Miami, FL 23-21 in a tight contest decided by key turnovers both early and late in the game. The Bills started hot thanks to an interception returned for a touchdown on the second play from scrimmage by Nickell Robey (Is there a better name for a  nickel cornerback than Nickell? Methinks not.), then followed that up with a Fred Jackson...

Report: Both CJ Spiller and Fred Jackson Missed Practice Wednesday

Buffalo Bills running backs Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller were both held out of Wednesday’s practice according to NFL Nation via ESPN.com. Spiller, who is dealing with an ankle injury that has impacted his play over the course of the last two weeks, has not lived up to preseason expectations after a stellar 2012 season, compiling just 362 yards on 90 carries. One of the biggest...

Has Mario Williams been worth the 100 million dollars he received?

I am sick of hearing haters on twitter and in the media about Mario Williams and his hefty contract.  Since he has come to Buffalo, he has been a freak of nature for the Bills. He has provided several huge plays to keep us in the game, and I personally want to make a valid […]

Bills consider resting RB Spiller

Buffalo Bills coach Doug Marrone is uncertain whether running back C.J. Spiller will play at New Orleans on Sunday. Marrone on Wednesday says he's considering sitting Spiller to give his sore left ankle time to heal. He added a decision won't be made until later this week. Spiller hasn't missed a game, but his playing time and production have been limited since he was...

Super Mario leads sack-happy Bills attack

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams welcomed his second AFC defensive player of the week honor much like he did his first one this season. He shrugged Wednesday, calling it ''just another day.'' Williams has been anything but routine this season, in finally playing to the ''Super Mario'' expectations that came with the six-year $100 million...

Bills Offense Playing Not To Lose

Since EJ Manuel went down with a strained knee the Buffalo Bills offense has been looking quite different than it did in their first five games. With practice squad quarterback Thaddeus Lewis at the helm the Bills stand at 1-1 and have scored four offensive touchdowns in those two games. Lewis has thrown for two and ran in another, all against the Cincinnati Bengals, but the offense...

Buffalo Bills' secondary re-aligning to its original self

With safety Jairus Byrd and cornerback Stephon Gilmore another week into their return to game action, the Buffalo Bills' secondary is starting to take on its original shape. Aaron Williams, who lined up primarily at cornerback the last few games despite entering the season as a safety, is transitioning back to centerfield as the perimeter of the defense gets healthier. Williams...

AFC East Report : Bills RB C.J Spiller still limited with ankle injury

Buffalo Bills RB C.J. Spiller (ankle) played on just 14-of-68 total offensive snaps in Sunday’s Week 7 win over the Miami Dolphins. Over the last 2 weeks, Spiller has rushed a total of 16 times for 66 yards with no touchdowns and has caught just 5 receptions for 7 yards on just 5 targets while playing on 23.1% of the snaps. It’s absolutely ridiculous that the Bills aren’t forcing...

Doug Marrone says Fred Jackson 'as strong, tough as any rookie'

Fred Jackson had his team concerned during an injury scare on the first play of the Buffalo Bills' Sunday bout with the Miami Dolphins. Jackson collided with tight end Scott Chandler on the sideline and went down, favoring his still-recovering left knee. But after being examined by doctors, Jackson waved off the injury cart, made his way to the bench and was back on the field...

Marquise Goodwin: Pro-files

Olympic athlete… professional football player… big brother. Deja Goodwin was only expected to live 6 months when she was born. She is now 22. She is confined to a wheelchair and cannot feed or bathe herself. She has some sight, but technically is legally blind. When she was a young girl, her big brother “Pookie”, as she would come to call him, would stay in the house with...

Thad Lewis and Bills’ defense squish the fish!

The Buffalo Bills have had their struggles and heartbreaking losses this year.  For Buffalo fans, last week’s overtime …

Stephons Gilmore: Cast bringing game to another level

Playing one-handed certainly isn't cornerback Stephon Gilmore's preferred method of covering No. 1 receivers. But he thinks the end result will be far more positive than the present struggle. Gilmore's participation increased in Sunday's win against the Miami Dolphins, as the sophomore corner played 25 percent more snaps than in his first week back from injury. With...

Post Mortem: Bills vs Dolphins

It started with a bang and sputtered along as the game went on, but the train kept moving for the Buffalo Bills. Heading into Sunday’s matchup with the Miami Dolphins, the Bills were banged up but seeing the return of familiar faces. Stevie Johnson was back full-time. Ditto Jairus Byrd and Stephon Gilmore. CJ Spiller and Fred Jackson were still hanging around despite being battered...

New Orleans Saints' most dangerous weapon still absent

Facing the high-powered passing game of the New Orleans Saints will be no small task this weekend for the Buffalo Bills' defense. There will be no complaints, however, if its most powerful weapon isn't healthy enough to play. After an injury in Week 6 against the New England Patriots and a bye week to recover, Saints tight end Jimmy Graham is apparently still feeling the effects...
