Wes Welker is great. He's arguably the best slot receiver in the NFL. He's borderline for a bust in Canton. He's been a major part of the New England Patriots success from 2007 until last Sunday. It's the belief of here in the cubicles at FVP that Wes Welker has played his last down for the Flying Elvii. The following outlines why. He'll be 32 on May 1st. The Pats don't need to look any further than the last great slot WR to draw his checks in Foxboro. Troy Brown caught 97 passes as a 31 yr old in 2002. In 2003, his receptions dropped to 40. For the remainder of his career, Brown only broke 40 receptions once, in 2006. Hall of famer Steve Largent caught 70 passes at age 32, but he dropped from there to 58, 39, and 28 receptions before retiring. Isaac Bruce averaged 49.4 receptions for his final 5 years, while averaging 64 over his 16 year career. Old friend Stanley Morgan never caught more than 40 after age 32. Production drops off on just about all the good/...

New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker had another infamous
playoff drop in the final game of his team’s season. It could wind up being not
only Welker’s last game of the 2012 campaign, but also of his Patriots’ career,
as the wide out is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
Still, the veteran is not concerned with his current contract status, according...
Wes Welker is the only good WR that drops passes
So, Welker led the league in drops, let's run him out of town, yada yada yada. Goddamit I ******* hate stupid people sometimes ALL THE ******* TIME. Welker gets thrown the most balls in the league, he is going to drop the most balls. That is how this **** works. Wide receivers catch balls, and drop some, that's what ******...
Former Hooters Hottie (it’s pretty obvious how Anna got her job at Hooters) Anna Burns Welker sure did good for herself marrying Patriots wide out Wes Welker. I’m not sure she did Wes any good slamming on Ray Lewis however. Luckily for Wes, this looks like Ray’s last year. Never the less, I still think [...]
Anna Burns Welker, the wife of Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker went on Facebook and gave her opinion of Ravens’ linebacker Ray Lewis.
Proud of my husband and the Pats. By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis’ Wikipedia page. 6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay. What a hall of fame player! A true role model!
Of course Mrs. Welker deleted...

Oh, the age of social media.

Welker released a statement to Larry Brown Sports about the controversial Facebook post.
“I’m deeply sorry...

There is a lot of talk about next season for the Patriots (obviously since this season came to a screeching halt) and just what they should do in the draft and free agency. Let’s take a look and see just what the Patriots need to be a legit contender next season and I’ll give you a hint, it’s not much. I think when you go to the Super Bowl and then follow it up by an albeit...
Ravens safety Ed Reed says he had a conversation with Tom Brady over the quarterback sliding high on him during the AFC title game.
– TMZ.com spoke with Linda Hogan about Wes Welker’s wife and she thinks that an athlete’s wife shouldn’t make her opinions public.

Tom Brady, Vince Wilfork, Wes Welker, and Logan Mankins have all pulled out of the Pro Bowl. The only members of the Patriots team who are still in the Pro Bowl are Jerod Mayo and Matthew Slater.

Super Bowl XLVII will take place on February 3, 2013 in New Orleans, L.A. at the Superdome. Some of the greatest Super Bowls in NFL history took place in that very stadium. Since Super Bowl XII on January 15, 1978, there have been six Super Bowl’s in the Superdome. Those Super Bowl’s included names such as Roger Staubach, Mike Singletary, Joe Montana,Brett Favre, Tom Brady andKurt...
The Patriots were already shallow at wide receiver in 2012, and if they can’t sign both of their free agent slot receivers, it could get even uglier in 2013.
By the end of the season, the Patriots had just Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, Deion Branch, Kamar Aikan and Matthew Slater on their roster. Donte Stallworth and Julian Edelman were placed on season-ending injured reserve and...
