As you probably all know by now, Antonio Cromartie, the ladies man that he is, has eight different baby mothers. However, it was his wife who recently instilled fear in him with a slew of texts nobody ever wants to receive.

Per the New York Post, Terricka Cason Cromartie, who is seven months pregnant with the couple’s second child, appeared to be in the act of committing suicide on May 6, as she sent the New York Jets cornerback these text messages:

“God forgive me, I don’t want to die. What have I done?” and “I cut my wrists. I took those pills.”

In Miami at the time, Antonio called the local New Jersey police department at nearly 3 a.m., trying to get help for his wife before it’s too late.

“There’s a problem at my house. She’s bleeding. She cut her wrists,” he told the dispatcher.

However, it was all a not-so-clever ruse.

When police busted down the doors of the family’s home, Terricka was in bed with her two daughters, safe and sound and with no blood in sight.

Why the frantic messages, you ask?

Well, Terrika later confessed that she had faked the suicide attempt because she was convinced Cromartie was “cheating on her.” In a jealous bit of rage, she even sent texts “to the woman she believes is romantically involved with her husband,” telling the would-be adulterer “that both she [Terricka] and her husband have [word redacted] even though they do not.”

Despite her being a-okay (at least, physically), authorities insisted she undergo psychiatric evaluation. Although initially “belligerent” and “uncooperative”, Terricka eventually agreed, and had child services temporarily watch her children.
