Not many defensive linemen, or defensive players in general, have had as good of a season as the New York Jets' Muhammad Wilkerson, albeit quietly in what was otherwise a dismal season for Gang Green. Unfortunately for Wilkerson, that season will likely end a game short. Jets coach Rex Ryan told reporters Wednesday that the second-year player was concussed Sunday in New York's loss to the San Diego Chargers, via the NY Daily News. The team later said Wilkerson received the concussion near the end of the game and didn't show concussion-like symptoms until after it was over. With the season long lost, there's no reason to rush Wilkerson back into the lineup for a meaningless contest with the Buffalo Bills. However, Ryan said missing Wilkerson "would be a huge blow, no question."Often working inside but moving along the line, Wilkerson tallied 66 tackles, five sacks, four passes defensed and three forced fumbles. He graded out as the NFL's fourth-best defen...

Jets will start Mark Sanchez in season finale

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has informed quarterback Mark Sanchez that he’ll start in the season finale. The reason Sanchez is getting the start is because Greg McElroy is currently being evaluated for a concussion.  Of course Tim Tebow isn’t happy at all about this. Without the circus that is the Jets, I wouldn’t be able to laugh as much I have been.   Need NFL Tickets...

Mark Sanchez Will Start Week 17

Mark Sanchez will get the start at quarterback Sunday in the Jets' season finale against Buffalo.Fantasy Spin:It's pretty much by default as Greg McElroy has been ruled out with a concussion. Sanchez will probably be on a short leash and could be benched in favor of Tim Tebow if he gets off to a rough start. Sanchez actually had one of his better games of the season versus...

Jets Start Sanchez, McElroy Out With Concussion

The New York Jets (6-9) will start Mark Sanchez in place of Greg McElroy this Sunday against the Buffalo Bills (5-10). McElroy developed severe headaches Thursday morning while lifting weights and Rex Ryan didn’t even wait for a diagnosis before ruling him out for Sunday’s game. Ruling McElroy out for the game was undoubtedly the right decision because the final game means nothing...

Rex Ryan: You’re not going to believe this, but Mark Sanchez is starting against Bills

What better way for the New York Jets to end their season than to start the quarterback who was once the starter, then got benched, then started again, then got benched again and is now preparing to be under center to close out the year. Greg McElroy is still suffering from concussion-like symptoms, which means Mark Sanchez is starting against the Buffalo Bills this weekend. You...

Will Tim Tebow reach the promised land?

It may seem a little disingenuous using a biblical reference to describe the latest situation surrounding New York Jets’ backup quarterback Tim Tebow but what would be the point in writing these things if you couldn’t have a little fun with it? Besides, it kind of fits in a way. Especially when you consider how Tebow’s football odyssey has gone so far.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE »
