Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe received the club’s franchise tag this year. Talks for a long term deal between Bowe and the franchise never got heated up this offseason, and it’s very possible that the receiver could be playing his last season with the Kansas City Chiefs. Bowe has been an enigma during his career with the Chiefs, considered by many to have an inflated ego.Bowe has two options at this point after not signing his tender, he can show up and play for $9.5 million this season, or he can holdout while demanding a new long-term contract.
The Chiefs could place the franchise tag on Bowe again next season, but that move would cost the club $11.4 million for the 2013 season. Kansas City could be planning on simply seeing how Bowe responds on the field this year under head coach Romeo Crennel and then come to a long term agreement with the receiver if he has a successful season.
The Chiefs could also possibly decide they simply wish to part ways with Bowe after this season ...
BEST OF MAXIM
The Kansas City Chiefs and wide receiver Dwayne Bowe weren’t able to work out a long-term contract before yesterday’s deadline. Now Bowe will be forced to play out the 2012 season under the franchise tag. At this point we don’t know when and if he plans on signing his tender.
It certainly looks like this could be Bowe’s last season in Kansas City. Jason...
Today was the deadline for franchise players to sign long term deals with their respective teams. Among the several players who went unsigned was the Chiefs’ Dwayne Bowe. What’s particularly troubling about Bowe’s situation, however, is how little contact there was between the two sides. Among all of the franchise players, there might not have been two sides further apart than...
Well, that was . . . quiet.
The upside of silence is that there's nothing there for the wags to use to try to read between the lines. The downside of silence, of course, is that it invites schlubs like us to try to fill in the gaps.
Maybe the Kansas City Chiefs tried like crazy to trade Dwayne Bowe. Maybe they didn't.
Maybe they talked. Maybe they didn't.
Kansas City Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli told KCChiefs.com, that back up quarterback Ricky Stanzi could potentially start in the NFL one day.
“We drafted a quarterback last year who I truly believe has good ability and has the potential to start in this league,” Pioli recently said, via KCChiefs.com. “I really do believe that.”
I’m not sure how good Pioli...
On Monday afternoon, when the Kansas City Chiefs and wide receiver, Dwayne Bowe, failed to come to grips on a long-term contract, neither side can negotiate a new deal until after the 2012 regular season. And that’s bad news for both parties.
I know what you’re thinking. I must be mad to say don’t draft Jamaal Charles of the Kansas City Chiefs. Once you see the reasons for not picking him up, you’ll be wise to let someone else in your league make the mistake of picking him for 2012 fantasy football.
First and foremost, Charles is coming off of a torn ACL suffered early last season. We’ve seen time and again when...
In an interview with the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, former NFL wide receiver Chris Chambers said he was training for a return to the NFL. Chambers, who was out of football last season, has 540 career catches for 7648 yards and 58 touchdowns in 10 seasons with the Dolphins, Chargers, and Chiefs after the Dolphins took him in the 2nd round in the 2011 NFL Draft.
Those are solid numbers...
According to Evan Silva of Rotoworld.com, Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles has indicated that he’ll be ready to go after rehabbing from a torn ACL.
“My knee is doing fine. I’ll be ready to go Week one. I feel like the same Jamaal Charles,” said Charles.
The good news for Charles is that he’ll have some help in the back field this year, with...
We all know the wide majority of the NFL preseason is totally and utterly worthless. This is especially true for the fourth and final preseason game, when teams are only playing the extreme lower rungs of the depth chart. However, the Kansas City Chiefs are using that opportunity to allow one fan to become the sideline reporter for their local broadcast for the second...
Chargers front office apologizes after word of them offering Kansas City Chiefs fans discounted ticket when the division rivals play Nov. 1.
Many San Diego fans were infuriated to hear news of there own Chargers inviting their division rival fans into their stadium with open arms.
Even worse, giving them a discount to do so? That's right, the email included an offer to...
Ohio State announced the 11-member class that will go into its Athletics Hall of Fame this fall on Thursday afternoon, and the list includes five football players, including football legend and current assistant coach Mike Vrabel.
This time of the year is difficult for football fans to bear. The season is close and training camp is ready to begin, yet we will know nothing until kickoff on September 9th against the Falcons. We are, In fact, ready for football now but we will have to wait.
I have come up with a way to get some buzz going about the Kansas City Chiefs. It is not overly optimistic or pessimistic...
