Will Najee Harris be the NFL's best RB in 2023?

Steelers RB Najee Harris didn't look the same in year two as he did as a rookie, but could he make a massive leap to become the league's top back in 2023?

CBS Sports writer Bryan DeArdo believes he could for a few reasons

First, Pittsburgh has finally addressed its offensive line. The team added guards Isaac Seumalo and Nate Herbig in free agency and will likely continue the rebuild in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The 2021 first-round pick rushed for more than 1,000 yards and at least seven touchdowns in back-to-back seasons, but he has been hit at or behind the line of scrimmage too many times. Harris may finally have some running lanes in 2023.

There is also an expectation of improved quarterback play by Kenny Pickett heading into year two.

A better pass game helps the run game, and a better run game helps the pass game. If Pickett can take his play to another level in 2023, Harris will certainly be one of the biggest benefactors.

Finally, a resurgent Harris is possible because we'll see a better overall version of him this year.

The 25-year-old continues to cement his role as one of the leaders of Pittsburgh's young offense. He has great work ethic and was even named a team captain last season.

However, the most important thing is that Harris is fully healthy from the Lisfranc foot injury he suffered in last year's training camp that clearly lingered throughout the 2022 season.

If all three reasons above are true, it's very likely that Harris will take his game to another level in 2023 and maybe even fight for the title as the league's best running back.
