Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd told the Post-Dispatch at the end of the season that a big factor in where he play next season is where Josh McDaniels ended up per Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Lloyd's career took off after he joined McDaniels in Denver in 2009, and the pair reunited in St. Louis following the trade, but after one ill-fated season as Rams offensive coordinator, McDaniels now has the coordinator's title in New England. The Patriots could be a desirable landing spot for Lloyd for a couple of reasons, for one, the Patriots win and win at a high level and for another, the Patriots need help at wide receiver. Other than Wes Welker and Deion Branch, New England didn't have a wideout catch more than 15 passes, Welker, who led the league with 122 receptions, also is scheduled for unrestricted free agency, although it's hard to see the Patriots letting him walk. Under the old regime at Rams Park, the Rams were interested in re-signing Lloyd, but it's unclear at this point what the new regime thinks of him and there's also a different face on the other side of the negotiating table, because Lloyd recently signed with a new agent, St. Louis-based Tom Condon of CAA.

Offseason Odyssey: St. Louis Rams

Throughout the 2012 offseason, we will be taking a look at each NFL team from a keeper/dynasty perspective. Rams: 10 Players Who Are "On the Bubble"

With a new regime comes a new face lift, and at this point the St. Louis Rams are completely out of butt fat and have been shot up with enough Botox to put even the most artificial Hollywood stars to shame. After a historically inept five-year stretch between 2007 and 2011, resulting in a combined 15-65 record, there's no doubt that the team must get it right this time...

Understanding why the situation around WR Brandon Lloyd got complicated for the Patriots…

The Patriots will be in the market for a receiver this year, and I bet they’ll draft at least one (or two), too. After coming up empty with Brandon Tate in 2009, Taylor Price in 2010, and Chad Ochocinco in 2011, it’s a priority this year. One obvious possibility is Brandon Lloyd. The former Broncos WR who played last year with the Rams excelled in the Pats(ish) offense...

Brandon Lloyd to the New England Patriots Makes Perfect Sense

By the start of the 2012 NFL season, Tom Brady will be turning 35 years old with three years left on his contract and time running out to win his fourth Super Bowl.  In not only Brady’s best interest, but in the best interest of the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick and the team’s front office need to surround Brady with as much talent as they possibly can—and free...
