Washington Redskins QB Rex Grossman will be a free agent after the conclusion of the 2011 regular season, but could Grossman be back under center for the Redskins in 2012? It’s a very good possibility. Prior to the start of the regular season Grossman was locked in a quarterback dual with John Beck with the team naming Grossman the starter just days prior to the season opener. Head coach Mike Shanahan said that he really liked the team’s quarterback depth heading into this season.
Grossman was pulled as the Redskins starter after just five games into the season, replaced by John Beck. Washington struggled under Beck, scoring 11 points in two games. Grossman was named the Redskins starter again in Week 10 against the Miami Dolphins.
