With the recent re-signing of safety James Ihedigbo by the New England Patriots, many are wondering if they will bring back defensive end Andre Carter as well.
Carter led the team in sacks in a season cut short by a quadriceps injury. He had ten sacks in a Pro Bowl season, four of which came in one game to tie the franchise record for sacks in a game.
Carter would be able to provide leadership to the Patriots first-round draft pick and fellow defensive end Chandler Jones, but he can also be an asset as a pass rusher.
The deal would be a win-win for both sides, as Carter enjoyed his time in New England and the Patriots could use him in a potential discount deal coming off an injury.
Carter’s agent made comments in February that indicated he was looking to return to the Patriots. Many feel that it is only a matter of time before the two sides announce a deal.
