With free agency less than a week away, Mario Williams maintains he has no real feel of what may happen once teams, including the Texans, make their pitch. "I am," said Williams when asked if he was getting anxious about the process which is about to get underway. "But at the same time, I really don't know too much." Williams also said his representatives and the Texans have not started serious negotiations. "As far as I know, there haven't been any talks about anything," Williams said. "They got a lot of things going on right now with preparing for the draft and so forth. Obviously it's going to go down to the wire... it's already Tuesday, a week away from free agency. We'll just see what happens." Williams is expected to be the hottest commodity once free agency begins on March 12. At age 26, he already has 53 career sacks and that includes the 2011 season, when he only played five games due to a pectoral tear. There is a very good possibility that the Texans, a team near the salary cap, simply will not be able to afford Williams. In addition, Houston this week signed running back Arian Foster to a 5-year, 43.5 million contract. But Williams has insisted he's not simply looking for the biggest payday. "I feel like anything can work," Williams said. "If something's brought to the table, then anything can be worked. At the end of day it's about fitting in the puzzle and having everything going together like it should. " The Texans are on record as desiring to retain Williams. But with other key players as free agents, signing Williams may prove to be an impossible task. Center Chris Myers, kicker Neil Rackers and tight end Joel Dreessen, among others, also become free agents next week.
