It’s reporting time for Buccaneers training camp and Gerald McCoy is still unsigned. Meanwhile, fourth pick Trent Williams and fifth pick Eric Berry have both signed their deals with their respective teams. Williams got $36.75-million guaranteed and Berry got $34-million guaranteed, both on six-year deals, and Tyson Jackson got $31-million from the Chiefs on a five-year deal last season. But yet there hasn’t been a peep about any progress on McCoy.
Well, I guess I can understand. It’s all so complicated. I mean, who can comprehend math like that? The fourth and fifth picks are $2.75-million apart in guaranteed money, so how much should McCoy ask for? A dollar? No, wait… 200-billion dollars? I think it’s somewhere in between those. Probably. Maybe.
It’s times like this I really lament not being able to give people polio with my mind.
