Ed Bouchette was going over some predictions he saw possibly coming to the Steelers today. He put out his projected starting offensive line. In that line was a surprise. Bouchette put Willie Colon in as the starting left guard.
That means that both rookies make the starting lineup this year. David DeCastro will be starting at right guard and Mike Adams starting at left tackle. That is what I am hoping for and I agree with Ed that it may not happen right away but those two guys I hope are on the field at those positions for the team.
This is something that many fans have been clammoring for since Colon arrived. He was expected to be a guard and was projected to be a guard. The Steelers stuck him out on an island at right tackle. Colon had some good times but for the most part he was below average at the position. We kept hearing how good Colon was but Flozell Adams came in and played better two seasons ago. Then Marcus Gilbert came out and showed great promise at the positi...

Steelers Drafted Sean Spence For His Instincts, Not His Measureables
When you look at the NFL scouting combine and pro day measurables of the Pittsburgh Steelers third round draft pick Sean Spence, you might not be overly impressed. His 5 foot, 11 inch height combined with his 231 pound weight certainly has you envisioning a pretty smallish linebacker. Even Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review commented on first seeing Spence up close that...
Steelers Release RB Chad Spann & CB Antonio Smith
I had a feeling that a few corresponding roster moves might be on the way soon as the Pittsburgh Steelers roster was over 90 players after the undrafted free agents had been identified. That indeed was the case on Wednesday as Mark Kaboly reports via Twitter that running back Chad Spann and cornerback Antonio Smith have now been released.
Spann was signed to the Steelers practice...

Pittsburgh Steelers 2012 Draft Grades
A rundown of the Steelers' draft picks. It has been a few days since the Draft and I have had to do some reserch on some of the Steelers' lower draft picks.
1st Round Pick 24
OG David DeCastro, Stanford A+
This player was a great pick up. The Steelers commented after the Draft that he was one of the players they would trade up for and didn't have to. With a...
Steelers rookies settling in after whirlwind week
A week ago, Mike Adams was waiting for his phone to ring. On Friday the former Ohio State star walked onto the Pittsburgh Steelers practice field as a professional football player.
The second-round draft pick joined 39 other rookies for the start of a three-day minicamp. Adams says he missed playing football but comes into camp with low expectations. He will likely work as a backup...

Steelers Draft Shows They Appear To Be Comfortable With Outside Linebacker Depth
Heading into the 2012 NFL draft it looked as if the Pittsburgh Steelers might have interest in drafting not only an inside linebacker, but an outside linebacker as well. Of their 30 allowed pre draft visitors, 4 were considered 3-4 outside linebacker prospects in the form of Nick Perry, Andre Branch, Cam Johnson and Olivier Vernon. There were also reports that the Steelers had some...
Post-Draft Grades Don’t Mean Much
The Steelers were touted by USA Today as having the best overall draft following this weekends 2012 NFL Draft. However, draft grades don’t always equal the production on the field. As every fan knows there are surprises and busts throughout the NFL Draft and the only way to weed out the good f Continue

Ta’amu will play a big part in the future of the defensive line
The Steelers answered a lot of questions by the time the NFL was over this past weekend. They filled serious holes on the offensive line, got some depth at linebacker and running back, and also found themselves the next Casey Hampton.
That’s some big shoes to fill no matter who you are, and not a responsibility to be taken lightly. Hampton started 148 of the 157 games he’s played...
