Steelers offensive tackle Willie Colon who has only played one game in the last two seasons is on my list of guys who should be gone this offseason.  After looking at all the cap numbers and potential cost savings to the Steelers by players who could be released it looks like we will be stuck with Colon for another season at least.  He basically can’t be cut. Colon is due $5.7 million this season.  If the Steelers were to release Colon they would only save $900k of that $5.7 million in cap money.  It is not worth it in any way shape or form for Colon to not be on this team next year. It bothers me that this is happening.  Colon should have never been signed in the first place.  We had already drafted Marcus Gilbert in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft.  Now Gilbert who had a good season at right tackle which is where he belongs has to move to left tackle.  That is because Colon has to play right tackle.  He can not go to the left side.  So we had a good right tackle who n...

  • The Steelers should want to keep Willie Colon. Here's why..... 1st round draft OT Mike Adams from Ohio State, day 1 starter @ LT. Keep Gilbert @ RT and slide Willie Colon inside to RG. This would help to solidify 2 positions with 1 pick.
    The starting line day 1 is LT...Adams, LG...Legursky, C...Pouncy, RG...Colon, and RT...Gilbert.

Tweak, not overhaul Roethlisberger & the Steelers offense

When you think of Ben Roethlisberger what’s the first thing that comes to mind? The Steelers starting Quarterback of course, but a close second is the inevitable “he holds onto the ball”. Todd Haley as a coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers has the potential to turn into nothing short of a meltdown in 2012.

The reasons behind Kansas City Chiefs dismissing their Head Coach Todd Haley last season have ranged from the sensible to the absurd. This of course depends on who you ask.  But as word surfaces that Haley will take over the Pittsburgh Steelers offense, the knee-jerk reaction is not a good one. Haley has family ties
