In a slow news week, Philip B. Wilson believes thanks to Polian's support Curtis Painter may get the start:
It sounds like Caldwell will make that determination Wednesday. I expect Painter to stick as the starter, if for no other reason than vice chairman Bill Polian’s continual support of the QB. Polian has doggedly maintained Painter hasn’t played as badly as some of us think. But the offensive numbers don’t lie. The Colts have scored 27 points combined in four games.

Many people consider junior Andrew Luck a sure thing to get drafted first overall. As a junior he still has the option of returning to school, but a report says he will declare.
Jacksonville writer: Colts a debacle
Jacksonville has mired in medicrity (at best) since 1999 with few glimpses of "above average." That doesn't stop Tania Ganguli of the Jacksonville Times-Union from accurately declaring the Colts' season a "debacle." I guess it's better than reading about the Jaguars...
Maybe they were too good, had too much success, won far too often. Maybe fate...
Colts inducting Harrison into 'Ring of Honor'
The Indianapolis Colts will add former wide receiver Marvin Harrison to their "Ring of Honor" on Sunday.
Harrison, who spent most of his playing days catching passes from Peyton Manning, had 1,102 catches for 14,580 yards and 128 touchdowns during his 13-year career in Indianapolis.
Harrison won a Super Bowl with Indianapolis in 2007 and was selected to the Pro Bowl...
Chappell: Colts QBs failing
Mike Chappell tells us the Colts QBs have the turnover-to-TD ratio flipped upside down:
The offense has failed to generate a touchdown in the past two games and has four TDs and 13 turnovers in the past 22 quarters. The Colts have managed only 27 points in the past four games and have failed to score more than 24 in a game all season. It's just the fourth time in club history...
The Marvin Harrison Project
In honor of Marvin Harrison's induction to the Colts Ring of Honor on Sunday, I'd like to announce my next major book project.
Beginning at the end of this season, I'll begin work on The Marvin Harrison Project.
The Marvin Harrison Project will be a comprehensive statistical study comparing Harrison to every wide receiver in the Hall of Fame as well as every significant...
Colts Coach Jim Caldwell Noncommittal About Starting QB Curtis Painter Next Week
Colts head coach Jim Caldwell was noncommittal Monday whether hell stick with starter Curtis Painter or turn to backup Dan Orlovsky. A change is warranted as the offense has failed to score a touchdown in the past two games and has just four TDs and 13 interceptions in the past 22 quarters. Its all not Painters fault, but he has faltered lately after several solid starts in...

Colts punter shears off hair to aid cancer patients
Rather than spend his off day sitting idly, Pat McAfee used it to fulfill a commitment. The Indianapolis Colts' veteran punter donated approximately 12 inches of his ponytail to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that donates hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children who have lost hair because of a medical condition.
Painter gets nod over Orlovsky as Colts QB
Colts coach Jim Caldwell has picked quarterback Curtis Painter to start Sunday's game against Carolina.
Painter replaced the injured Kerry Collins against Pittsburgh in September and has started every game since then. But after posting quarterback ratings of 51 or less in each of his past four games, fans were clamoring for another change. At 0-11, the Colts are the only winless...
